Largest market in Malaysia

Yes, this is the largest wet market in Malaysia. There are lots of sellers here doing their business every day, from everyday necessities to chicken rice on the second floor.

Sibu Wet Market

🌄 A Morning Ritual Unlike Any Other
Located right off Jalan Channel, opposite the express boat terminal, Sibu Central Market was opened in 1996 and is home to more than 1100 stalls. I guess, if you wanted to take your time to slowly stroll along each stall and look at everything, it would take you a while.

If there is any wet market that you would like to visit, especially in Sarawak, then this is one of the wet markets to visit here in Sibu.
Many of the sellers get here as early as five in the morning. My late grandmother, who passed away a couple of years ago ,spent her last couple of years selling her veggies here.

There are also fresh squid sold here as well as fresh chicken meat.

Many traditional Sarawakian snacks. They are made fresh daily and packed into individual packs like these. You can ask for a discount as the sellers are quite friendly.

These are some of the traditional snacks that are sold here. Most of them are baked, and you can dip them into a cup of coffee to enjoy a chat with your friend or family member.

The unlimited space. I enjoy taking photographs of huge places like this.

After visiting Sibu's market, it was time for me to head back to Miri by bus. Traveling by bus is one of the best ways to travel around, as it is comfortable. The inside of the bus is clean and the seats are huge.

Bought a ticket and it was time to board the bus here at Sibu bus station. There is no worry about getting a bus. There are buses every hour.

This is the view of Sibu bus station.

Everyone here is waiting for the bus.

The calm feeling as you are in Sibu. I was getting ready to get back to Miri from Sibu. My dad was there to visit his siblings. I was born in the town of Sibu but was not brought up here.

Thank you for reading this post.

Have a wonderful day ahead.

It's kinda big, and the inside looks really neat. I'm curious if its smelly, maybe not or a little? There's stalls there that still covered, not open yet I guess.

Wow! It is really big. You can buy everything from there, making people choose it over other wet markets.
