Hi, hi.. my good friends. It is another Sunday. I am a Malaysian in Australia. I wanted to explore Perth, Australia as how the locals would be experience the place. This is my forth time that I've visited Australia.

One of the most confusing parts of using the Metro system here is that it is not clearly written but with zones. I bought the wrong ticket initially as compared to being in Malaysia. In Malaysia, you just use your e-wallet app and tap on the counter, and later, when you reach your destination, you just tap your phone again.

I even went to the info counter to ask for help and since it wasn't time for opening yet, the person in charge just ignored me. haha.. That would never happen in Malaysia.

I bought the day rider earlier, while I was riding the train from the airport to the city. So, why not spend that ticket to the other parts of the city just to explore since it's included for all metros for the whole day of unlimited use.

The inside of the train is clean. Most of the people are well-behaved. You can enjoy the view of the scenery as the train zooms past the city area. I was going to Fremantle.

So, what's so special about Fremantle?

This was one of those earlier settlements where the British sent convicts as early as 1829. I love history, so there are some places here that I had to make sure that I learnt some history of.

Perth City area

I have a friend who has been here for a lot of his life and has settled down in Perth. We used to study together, and I asked him for some tips while travelling around Perth. One of the things he mentioned about Freemantle was the upscale class of the area there, and the real estate around that area is slightly more costly.

Fremantle Perth

A few things I was excited to check out while I was here was the fish and chips. Then, there is the Western Australia Maritime Museum which was around 15 minutes of walking. The next day, I rented a car to get around the city. It was far more fun having a car to drive around the city and experience the life of an Australian for a week. Most locals did not know I was Malaysian or a tourist.

Victorian-era building architecture always amazes me.

Gage Road

There is a brewery here, and it makes freshly brewed Australian beer. I was there for one more thing, and that was the fish and chips.

Next to this area is the Swan River.

Lots of huge cargo ships carrying vehicles. I saw lots of pickups outside this whole gigantic vessel that was anchored next to the shore.

Then, I was at the Western Australia Maritime Museum. This is worth a long post to highlight some fun stuff I was able to do there at the same time learning the different historical events that shaped the waters here.

One of the most interesting places I visited while I was here was the Fremantle Prison. I did not do much video recording but took a lot of photos that I am going to show some time in the not so distant future.

If your in Fremantle, you are going to see this huge container with a picture of beer.
