Dirty water

My tenant complained that the water in the house was slightly dirty. So, as the nice landlord, I went and checked out the water to see if it was dirty. Recently, there was some maintenance work on the water system here in Miri. The water was slightly dirty.

This is my house that I've rented out. So far, out of the five rooms, I have rented out two. Quite busy juggling life, business, online stuff and etc.

I guess this is part of life and growth. Sometimes, it can be quite tiring. But the best thing is that nowadays, I do not really worry too much about money. I have been self-employed for the last decade or more. I can support my wife, give allowances to my parents, and many more. I've always had this mindset where, if I do not try and do something that can support my life without working for others, imagine, one day, at fifty, and getting fired from a job.

So, I went and checked.

The water has begun to clear. A couple of hours ago, before this, the water was slightly more brownish.

Then, I went to the bathroom to check out the water here. It was alright too. It was clear.

I did not install a water filter here in case it gets stolen.

This is the cloth that was wrapped by the tenant to filter out the brown water.

So, after that, I went back home and had a good night's rest. Then, the next day, it was time to go out for breakfast.

This is part of the city in Miri here. This is the open-air market of Miri, and this is the kitchen. Recently, it was renovated to make it cleaner.

One of the best things about Miri is that most of Miri is clean enough that you won't find much dirt. Areas that are dirty usually get cleaned by the council or the one who litters usually gets a fine.

The open-air market of Miri. Here in Sarawak, muslim stalls and non muslim stalls can open next to each other. It is not usual in some parts of Malaysia. This is one of the earliest food courts here in Miri. A lot of legendary stalls are located here.

My wife wanted me to order some spring rolls for her. So, I went to this stall that serves spring rolls.

Roasted meat. My wife loves the roasted duck.

What I ordered here at the open air market.

The fried Kueh Tiaw. This is the legendary dish. Not only is it cheap, but it is made by a chef who has been doing this for a long long time.

Thank you very much. It is never too late to start a side business now to one day help in better

When I was living in Thailand I recall the water would frequently be brown and I was told by locals that this is because when the city works on the pipes they just let all the dirt fall into the pipes when they are doing that. It's pretty gross but I guess that is just how life is over here.

In USA, which is where I come from, all the water is pure and drinkable out of the faucet, but it is also really expensive. For me, I would rather deal with the water being a bit less-than-perfect every now and then and get it for a really cheap price!
