A hidden gem in Brunei 🇧🇳
Hi, friends… good morning… it is a wonderful Friday again. Breakfast has always been quite important.
This is the district of Seria. Seria is the oil town of Brunei, and there are many oil and gas companies in this area. There is a food court here that many people have not visited before. The stalls here are all owned by local owners.
So far, I've met only a handful of hivers from this region. Maybe two or three.
This is a post about this place.
KOMPLEKS SRI SELERA SERIA
Normally, tourists do not visit this food court. Many tourists only visit the main capital area of Brunei. Seria is an hour's drive away from Bandar Seri Begawan. The complex itself is huge. The best thing about having a design like this is that natural airflow cools down the whole place.
Being here at approximately 10 a.m., I was slightly late. A lot of the stalls were closed for the day. These stalls usually start their business early in the day.
Brunei is a country that prioritizes cleanliness at a strict level. Any place that fails cleanliness strictness usually gets shut down quite quickly. Most eateries in Brunei are clean. Immaculate.
If you come here early in the morning, you are going to see the whole place full of hungry customers, and is like a market. There are lots of stalls to choose from so you can to choose many different type of food here.
The outside area of the complex.
I ordered a bowl of Kolok mee.
The noodles here are first boiled in boiling water to cook it. The bowl with lots of different types of meat, wan ton and veggies. This is the most basic breakfast we can get at most restaurants here in Brunei.
I ordered this from this stall.
The cook is busy cooking the noodles. I love looking at the behind-the-scenes and seeing how they prepare everything. The smoke from the water boiling here.
This is my wife's friend and this is her stall.
She helps her dad here at this particular stall. I wanted to order the food at her stall but she told me that everything was sold out and they were prepared to head home.
Do visit this place if you have the chance to do so.
Thank you very much for reading this post.
