Unlimited Korean Barbecue Family Adventure - Samgyupsalamat
Hello, Asean Hive community! Let’s talk about Samgyupsalamat!
Last March 2, 2025, my family and I went out for an early dinner at the Unlimited Grill Korean Restaurant here in CDO Limketkai. There’s nothing more meaningful than being with family and appreciating the little things together. It was my sister’s 33rd birthday, and this was our first time dining out in a long while.
I must say, the meat from South Korea is of excellent quality, and the food was amazing. As you enter the restaurant, you’re greeted by the aroma of grilled meat along with the sounds of people talking and laughing. You won't see smoke swirling around the restaurant because there’s an exhaust right above the grill, ensuring that your clothes won’t smell like grilled meat.
This is Japchae, and its taste is perfect. It's a chewy glass noodle, unlike any other type of noodle. You will gonna love this!
For a very reasonable price, you can enjoy unlimited quality meat. The options include chicken, pork, and beef. For pork, the choices are Dae-Pae (thinly sliced pork belly), Buljib (tenderized fresh pork belly), Yangnyum Dae-Pae (thinly sliced pork belly marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce), and Moksal (a leaner cut with a more intense pork flavor). For beef, we chose Beef Samgyup (thinly sliced beef), Bulgogi (thin and tender slices marinated in a sweet soy-based sauce), and Beef Enoki (thinly sliced beef wrapped around enoki mushrooms for a delightful bite). Since I was late to the restaurant, I went along with whatever they ordered, mostly Beef Enoki and Bulgogi.
The side dishes were served all at once, and we were able to request more if needed. These included Odeng (fish cake), Kimchi, Japchae, potato marbles, radish pickle, water spinach, braised tofu, and myeolchi bokkeum.
My sister ordered extra Beef Enoki and Bulgogi because they are her favorites. Being obedient, I decided to enjoy what they were having. The boys were tasked with cooking the beef and pork, and everyone was excited to taste the mouthwatering meat. We all watched as the pork and beef transformed from pale pink to golden brown, glistening, and ready to eat.
I would say that Korean side dishes are among the best and healthiest. I particularly enjoyed the kimchi, fish cake, and crunchy radish pickle. The braised tofu reminded me of singkamas (turnips). Each bite of the grilled meat was tender, juicy, and delicious. I had never tasted meat so succulent. The Beef Enoki was my first experience with enoki mushrooms, and they had a chewy texture with a hint of fruity flavor that I couldn’t quite identify, but it was delightful. The beef wrapped in enoki was thinly sliced, tender, and very savory.Typically, I don’t eat a lot of meat, but with the unlimited offer, I decided to indulge and make the most of what I had paid for.
Now, here's where the magic happens: you take a piece of lettuce, add a slice of grilled beef or pork, dab some spicy sauce, toss in some kimchi, wrap it all up, and pop it in your mouth. The combination of textures and flavors is incredible. The savory beef, soy paste, spicy kimchi, and fresh lettuce create the perfect bite! It pairs best with cola or Sprite. This is the steamed egg, which is also delicious. I requested this earlier, but it came late. Better late than never.
My Samgyeopsal experience was unforgettable and it’s a perfect meal to share with family or friends. The highlight of the evening was seeing the kids enjoy it just as much as we did. It was a fun way to bond, gather together, and share a flavorful, satisfying meal. I highly recommend it!

I've been missing going to Korean BBQ for unlimited samgyupsal, that japchae looks delicious!
You should definitely try eating at a Korean restaurant. This is my first time dining at this restaurant this year.

Yes, you are definitely right. Samgyupsal and unlimited are best shared with family and friends and you will forget that you are on a diet. hahaha
Perhaps Samgyeopsal is the most popular Korean dish that Filipinos also came to embrace. Typically, it is paired with soju, but I think Filipinos skip the soju part😀 It wouldn't be wise to get drunk while eating coz you won't get the full value of your money; the goal is to eat as much as you can hehehe... I think this is an enjoyable way of eating because grilling is part of it, it adds to the fun; and it is something that is rarely or never done at home, so it gives us a different kind of experience.
Yes, that's the goal: to eat all the foods! Actually, my sisters skip the rice, so they give all the rice to me. Hahaha! I'm a rice person. It's really enjoyable, and what I love about the place is that you won't smell like a grill after leaving the restaurant.
Yummy foods at samgyup I loved the enoki rolled with pork also the lettuce. Happy bonding for being complete with family is so much better treasure in our life. Enjoy your day teach together with them.

I always thought that samgyeopsal requires chopsticks than spoon and and fork 🤧. I always wanted to try samgyeop but too shy to ask if it's okay to use fork instead , hahaha. Yes, before I am hesitant to eat at Korean Resto because of the chopstick thing which I do not know how to use. Hahaha. But actually they will give you both utensils for you to use during the meal.
