A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words/On the defensive/A la defensiva

Looking at this image I immediately thought about my life, how different circumstances have led me to always be on the Defensive.

Al ver esta imagen, inmediatamente pensé en mi vida y en cómo las diferentes circunstancias me han llevado a estar siempre a la defensiva.

I have heard many people say that they wish to be children again, I would NOT want this, I would repeat what I suffered in my childhood, something that has marked my life, but these footprints help me to strengthen my character and to be a disciplined, hard-working and persevering man.

He escuchado a mucha gente decir que desearían volver a ser niños. Yo no querría esto; repetiría lo que sufrí en mi infancia, algo que ha marcado mi vida. Pero estas huellas me ayudan a fortalecer mi carácter y a ser un hombre disciplinado, trabajador y perseverante.

Maybe some people some say that it is NOT good to live like this, I say the opposite, when we are on the defensive we analyze even the smallest detail of people, this helps us choose very well who deserves our friendship and who to literally leave aside, at least that is what I do, it is easy to see the lie in people's eyes and even realize who is lying even when writing, it is an attitude of constant alert that in my case does NOT affect me, quite the opposite.

Quizás algunos digan que no es bueno vivir así, yo digo lo contrario. Cuando estamos a la defensiva, analizamos hasta el más mínimo detalle de las personas. Esto nos ayuda a elegir muy bien quién merece nuestra amistad y a quién dejar de lado. Al menos eso es lo que yo hago. Es fácil ver la mentira en los ojos de las personas e incluso darme cuenta de quién miente, incluso al escribir. Es una actitud de alerta constante que, en mi caso, no me afecta, todo lo contrario.

Conclusion: Living on the defensive makes us more analytica .I am a young man, it is true, but my way of thinking is that of an older man, will NOT allow anything to defeat me. I am ready to face everything that life throws at me.

Conclusión: Vivir a la defensiva nos hace más analíticos. Soy joven, es cierto, pero mi forma de pensar es la de un hombre mayor; no permitiré que nada me venza. Estoy listo para afrontar todo lo que la vida me depare.
