A long-awaited family outing

I eventually got to breathe after all the months of lectures, homework, and the never-ending school pressure. The semester had been challenging, and all I wanted was a vacation—one including family, joy, and something other than the standard hostel schedule. I just returned home for vacation, When my father phoned me from his work place to say we were going on an adventure, my heart therefore brightened. We had not had one in so much times.

I woke early that morning and was all feeling rejuvenated. Just looking forward to spending time with my father and siblings helped to lift my energy. Making sure I was stylish but comfortable, I put on a casual decent outfit a yellow and black top with white trousers. Already thrilled, my siblings were bubbling with ideas and conversations about dinner and site choices. As always, dad was cool and in control, just beaming at our enthusiasm.

Driving through the town was how we began the day. The car window glass were all slide down, and the fresh breeze was all I had been yearning for. The streets of Owerri felt different—not only because I was viewing them through a fresh set of eyes but also because I was not hurrying to class or pondering projects for once.

Finally we arrived at the eatery, As soon as we entered, the tantalizing scent of spices and grilled chicken permeated the room. Of course, just because we could, we ordered a mix of our jollof rice, fried chicken, ice-cold beverages, and favorites. Laugher permeated the meal as we ate. We laughed about our early experiences, teased one another about small things, and informed Dad on our activities. It felt so good—like we were meeting after years apart.

We chose to go to a little park following the dinner. While my father and I walked conversing about life, school, and everything between my sibling darted forward, excited to discover. I felt like a kid again but at the same time could see him seeing me developing into a grown-up in one of those rare occasions.

We settled by a serene spot, as the moon became to come out in full to observe families, couples, and friends relishing the evening. I came to see how much I missed this just being with them apart from the demands of school and life. I was worn but thrilled when we arrived back. That day reminded me that no matter how busy life gets, family still provides solace and happiness. It is a constant. that evening in bed I grinned since I knew I bore a bit of that happiness with me, all set to drive on against whatever the next semester had in front of me.

Awwnnn, this is wonderful. I was grinning from ear to ear while reading this. I could feel the happy vibe, joy and and fulfillment you felt all through the outing.

Spending quality time with family is a great way to prioritize what truly matters in life. It's of essence because that's one of the ways to strengthen bonds, create lasting memories, and recharge one's emotional batteries. Family is everything.

Big ups to your dad for planning a wonderful family evening out.

By the way, you took after your dad. Exactly his "photocopy, abi carbon copy" 😅
