The White Intruder: PhotoFeed Contest Macro Photography 156.
The other day, I shared a video of a spectacular white spider I'd found in my garden. I was plucking waterleaves when I noticed this white creature crawl out from underneath one of the leaves.
It was so tiny I couldn't tell what it was at first – a spider or another type of insect that often ravages my vegetables. Well, there's one way to find out what it is. So I picked up the waterleaf stem it was resting on, took a snapshot and looked it up.
The search result showed that it was actually a spider, notably White Crab Spider - Thomisus spectabilis, from the (family Thomisidae). A crab-like spider, right in my garden, and the color white... Interesting! I'm not sure if I've seen a white spider before, not even one this cute. Nature is incredible!
One interesting thing I noted with this type of specie of spider is that they do not build webs to catch their prey. They'd just lay ambush, sitting motionless on plants, then use their large, crab-like front legs to grab their victims, as seen in the image below.
I took more shots of the spider in different positions, and here they are. I actually had to zoom my device's camera, 6x so I could get these clear shots as the spider is small.

Patience is a virtue I believe, and so it is for the cute wee white spider. Be patient and wait and bam the prey gets caught!

I haven't seen it before, there are thousands of creatures we haven't seen, can you imagine white spider? And it's strange honestly, I have looked at the picture over and over again.
