Street Scenes And Stories.

Hello welcome to my blog and to PhotoFeed Street Photography Round 124.

It was a warm bright afternoon and everyone including objects along the streets were at the mercy of the scorching sun. The surprising thing was that there was a heavy downpour not long before the sun began to shine. I actually thought that it was going to be another wet day like yesterday, but nature had other plans. Nature's unpredictability can be quite fascinating, can't it?

So while out for work in the field, I stumbled on some interesting scenes which I captured on camera. Since I was in the open, I had to apply my little sneaky tricks to be able to capture them. Lol. I didn't want anyone pouncing on me, especially under the hot weather. 😅

This is Adazi street, a not-so-popular but bustling spot in my city, which owes its busy atmosphere to the activities around there. The street is home to warehouses for textile materials, as well as some cool joints and restaurants where Keke tricycle drivers often frequent.

Today, the street witnessed some young undergraduates from one of the tertiary institutions observing their rag day.

Rag Day is a significant event in tertiary institutions in my country, Nigeria, This event happens during the Student Union week, where students, especially freshmen often dress up in rags or outrageous outfits and take to the streets to raise funds for charity.

It's actually a fun activity and a good opportunity to move around the town and connect with people.

I think I like their dressing style, So cool unlike the way I was dressed during my own time. I was dressed in a pant that had one long leg and one short leg, oversized shirt and coat with a long tie that almost reached my knees. On my feet were different design of sneakers. It was crazy. 😂 I didn't know what I was thinking - wearing that.

Well, I was able to raise some cool funds but I went back completely drained. Like I felt sick and couldn't feel my legs for two days. That was the first and last time I engaged in ragging activity till I graduated.

Since it was a sunny afternoon, shadows wouldn't be missing from the picture. Some actually looked funny like the ones in the photo below.

I don't even know how to describe the shape of the shadows of these two men at the front. They look fracking weird. 😆

Someone has been caught. 🤣

Take a closer look at the guy in the photo. I wonder what's going on in his mind or where he's looking at. Could it be that he's looking at the girl's and wondering why they're dressed that way? Or maybe wondering if he could stop by one of the restaurants and have a bite.

Whichever it is, his countenance depicts someone in wonderland. It's a pity it's not a female, would have imagined her as "Alice in wonderland." 😅

And that's a wrap. Hope you found the photos interesting?

The photos are really nice especially the girls ragging. I can remember when I was in school that day I said I will not do rag because I don't have luck for begging so till I finished school I did not do rag for one day.

The photos are lovely.

I was a shy shy gal so I did not partake in the tag day at all. Though I learnt it was fun but I couldn't try it out at all
