On Nature's Trail Lies The Little Wonders!
Today, I was out in the field and while perusing the farmlands, I stumbled upon some natural wonders that caught my attention. You know, nature is full of wonders. You can't be around it without feeling amazed and inspired, and that's exactly how I felt seeing these simple yet striking sights, and I'm excited to share them with you.
Blooming in a cleared land that's awaiting cultivation was this beautiful wild flower, it's whiteness adding a touch of elegance and vibrancy to the uncultivated farmland. I stood for a while, admiring it's beauty and wondering what it's name could be. Maybe "wild hibiscus" or something else.
Positioning my phone camera, I began to take snapshots of the flower in different positions as you'll see in the photos below;
As I made to take close up shots, I saw some things hanging on the stamen and I stopped in my tracks to fully grasp the sight before my eyes.
At first I thought I was seeing some kind of worms, but on a closer look, I saw that they were the "anther sac or pollen sacs." Oh, thanks goodness!, I said, heaving a sigh of relief. I could have sworn those things on the anther were worms, possibly on rampage to eat up the flower. 😅.
Away from the flower to this striking fruit bearing tree. This is a wonder tree because it produces fruits directly on its stems. The process starts with a flowering stage, where small blooms appear, after which the fruits develop. The fruit is none other than the "monkey kola", locally known as "achịcha."
Did you notice those little creatures inside the flowers?
Here's a close up shot for a better view.
A bit about Monkey Kola fruit
Monkey kola is a tasty, crunchy fruit with a carrot-like taste. It comes in colors of white and yellow. This wonderful fruit is rich in antioxidant, and other essential nutrients, plus it can help boost fertility and improves immunity. It's actually one of my favorite fruits and I'm already craving for a bite, hehehe. 😂
Despite that I didn't spend much time at the field, I enjoyed every moment OF IT, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to see these simple yet striking wonders of nature. The simple things of life always make the difference.

that's some wilderness in it.. those 'worms' on the anther were so misleading! 💚🌼
Yeah, they really were 😅. Thank you.
Nice close up shots of the flower and fruit. Indeed nature has a lot to offer. You're really fortunate to be living close to nature fields and farmlands.
I appreciate your kind words.
You're right, living close to nature has lots of rewards. At least I can see some wild things to capture through my camera lens, hehehe. And you know, it's amazing how much detail and texture you can see in close-up shots.
I'm grateful to be living in such a natural environment that has brought so much joy to my life.
