Meet Timmy And Her Cute Little Pups!

A month ago, I received a news – my adopted dog, Timmy, had given birth to adorable puppies. I felt a mix of shock and euphoria when I heard the news.
Timmy, having puppies at just ten months old, that's incredible! - totally didn't see that coming!

Well, it's a breed thing! Small breeds never cease to amaze, Always a bunch of big surprises! 😂

As a small breed, Timmy's early pregnancy is totally normal.

Small breeds usually experience their first heat cycle between six to nine months and reach breeding age at one to two years. Their average litter size is between one to four puppies, and Timmy had three!. They have gestation period of about 58-68 days.

Call them "small but mighty", you won't be wrong, hehehe.

Timmy's journey to motherhood was so heartwarming and as I awaited the opportunity to meet them, my excitement grew. Finally, I had the opportunity of visiting them over the weekend.

I was spending the weekend with my sister and during one of my morning strolls, I took the chance to pay a visit Timmy's family in the neighboring village.

As I walked, the harmattan's gentle breeze caressed my face and the morning sun's warmth awakened my enthusiasm. I hastened my steps, eager to meet Timmy and her adorable pups, their presence a promise of joy.

Entering their compound, Timmy was having a restful time. I'm guessing taking care of the pups all through the night, tired her out. I called out to her and on hearing my voice, she leapt up, ran towards me with open arms – or rather, open paws!, lol. She was ecstatic, happy and began to showcase her signature antics - wiggling, turning around while whining, and jumping all over me. The energy was infectious, and I couldn't help but laugh out.

To reciprocate the affection, I started praising her for being a good girl and having her puppies successfully even at a young age, and how proud of her I was. I gave her a warm gentle squeeze, playfully ruffled her fur plus belly rubs.
Her owners were just watching us, amazed.

While we were still enjoying our play time, her puppies came along, their curiosity and playfulness immediately stole my heart. Oh my cute little pups.

They are still little and their bones, feeble, so I was careful not to hurt them as we played. She had them - two males and a female.

One of the pups was fascinated with my socks, and couldn't stop chewing on it.

Another pup was busy exploring my hands, discovering new sights and smells

The other one could be seen suckling away. He couldn't even wait for his "puplings". He's indeed a foodie, lol.

He can't be suckling alone, so I carried the others to join him too. 🤣.

After suckling her puppies, I gave her a special package - bones, which she devoured with glee. She'll pick one, hide, and return after eating it to pick another one. It was both entertaining and heartwarming.

I spent quality time with Timmy and the puppies. Witnessing Timmy's happiness and the puppies' innocence filled my heart with gratitude. It reminded me of the unconditional love and joy that these
furry friends bring to our lives.
