Make Your Happiness!
Oftentimes, we've hear this phrase Find your happiness but have you ever heard of this particular one, "Make your happiness"?, Yes, No?. Whichever is your reply, just know that this phrase is a very powerful reminder that happiness isn't something that just happens to us, but it's that which we create for ourselves mainly through the choices we make, our mindset, and our actions.
But can one actually make happiness, and how?
To answer this, I'll be sharing with us some concepts of creating happiness, including some tips and strategies for cultivating more joy and positivity in our lives.
First we should be in the know that happiness isn't a destination, but a no ending journey. It's about being mindful of the little moments that bring joy, and making a conscious effort to cultivate more of those moments in your life. And this journey of making happiness doesn't demand you to be too uptight, serious or perfect about it, no!. Sometimes the most memorable experiences are the ones that are a little bit quirky and unexpected. But the most important thing is that when you're intentional about creating happiness in your life, it can have a transformative effect on your well-being and your overall quality of life.
That being said, let's delve into how we can make that happiness that will last a life time
Building Positive Mindset:
The mindset is a powerful tool for creating happiness. It's often said that the mind is the engine house of our emotions, where our feelings and reactions are generated and processed. Therefore the way you think about yourself, the world, and your experiences has a huge impact on your overall mood and outlook on life. And that is why cultivating a positive and resilient mindset can help create a more joyful and fulfilling life.
Let's note this
Practicing positive self-talk, speaking kindly to yourself, valuing yourself, and focusing more on on your strengths and accomplishments is a very good way to creating happiness. Not only that, visualizing yourself achieving your goals against all odds can also spark up the flame of joy and happiness in you.
You know that age long hack of looking yourself in the mirror and speaking positive words, that's one of it. I do this a lot, lol. I can also make a short video clip like this one below, just to appreciate myself.
Practicing Gratitude
This is another powerful but simple tool for creating happiness. When are intentional about appreciating the good things in our lives - like our jobs, the captivating sunset, an act of kindness from a friend, or a delicious meal etc., it helps us focus on the positive and shift our attention away from the societal unrest and chaos happening around us, including problems and other things that are causing us stress or unhappiness.
Note
Just one gratitude at a time can help create a whole lot of happy vibes around us.
Practicing Self-care
There's no arguing the fact that self-care is very essential for creating happiness, 💯. When we take the time to prioritize our own well-being, we're better equipped to handle stress, maintain our mental health, and cultivate a positive outlook on life. When your body isn't in one piece, happiness will definitely elude you. That's why practicing some self care tips is advised is essential. Here they are;
Take a break from work when you notice the signs of tiredness in your body.
Allow the body enough sleep and rest time.
Eat healthy and nutritious foods and drink a lot of clean water.
Engage in physical activity or exercise of choice. I love taking a walk.
Practice mindfulness, meditation, or yoga.
Spend time in nature. I just love doing this because of the joy I derive from it. Imagine taking a walk around a natural environment, enjoying the fresh air, seeing the beautiful flowers, the fruit bearing trees, birds flying up in the sky with their sing song chirps including the little creatures.
How about going to the beach, stream or waterfall to experience the beauty of nature in another dimension. I'll tell you one thing;
Nature is a healer and spending time in nature is kinda therapeutic. It's a good way to reduce stress, boost mood and connect with the natural world around you.

Developing Fulfilling Relationships
"No man is an island" so they say. We all need each other one way or the other. Man is a social being and is bound to interact with others. Therefore spending time with others - family members, friends, loved ones, and even associates, cultivating supportive and nurturing relationships, and engaging in shared activities can help boost your mood and create a sense of connection and belonging. It won't be out of place to say that having a strong social connections can be a key factor in creating happiness, which is beneficial for one's overall well-being.
You can try creating more happiness in your relationships by;
Making time for regular get-togethers with friends and family.
Showing appreciation and gratitude for the people in your life.
Practicing Kindness And Generosity Towards Others.
Spreading kindness and positivity, taking the time to do something thoughtful and meaningful for others can bring joy and happiness to both you and those around you.
During shopping last Friday, I passed by where fresh groundnuts were sold (it's in season now) and I remembered that mom loves eating it so bought some for her. I love eating it too and I prefer cooking it by myself, just like mom. So when I got to their place to deliver the stuffs I bought for them, I handed the bag containing the groundnut to her. Immediately she opened it and saw what it was, her face brightened up and she asked how I knew she's been craving it for a while now. Well I told her I knew because I'm my mother's daughter and we laughed. She was happy and appreciative of my thoughtfulness and that gladdened my heart.
One beautiful thing about kindness is that it has a way of creating a ripple effect of happiness in your life, that of those around you, and even beyond.
So still on my Friday shopping, I stopped at another shop to buy soap and detergent, the vendor, a young girl was welcoming, with a cheerful smile. I noticed her beautiful dentition and couldn't help complimenting them. She smiled even more, and oh my world, they sparkled and I could see how happy she was, that warmed my heart. You know what happened next, the mom came out of the shop and seeing our smiling faces, she joined in too.
Kindness is damn contagious, lol.
Creating Meaningful Experiences And Memories
We usually say "that experience is the best teacher", no doubt and every day comes with new experiences which end up being memories, and these are important part of creating happiness.
Whether it's trying a new activity, adventure, traveling to a new place, or simply spending time in nature, etc., creating new experiences and memories can bring a sense of joy and excitement to your life.
These and more are the ways you can make that happiness you so desire. Don't forget that happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's something that you create for yourself, in small but meaningful ways, every single day.

Oooh your mum likes groundnut just like myself. I love it, both fried and cooked ones. I also bought some on Saturday from the market and enjoyed it with my family at our leisure time yesterday. It was a good one. Being happy always prolongs life. Thanks.
