Grateful For My Thriving Crops.

Hello gardeners from around the world. Hope the weather is pleasant in your region and your crops thriving?

After a disappointing season with my maize which I also shared here, I'm excited to announce that my other crops are thriving in my small garden.

You know, there's this unexplainable joy that comes from seeing your crops thrive and produce. You'd just feel like dancing around your garden. Lol. Well, that's exactly how I felt when I checked on my small garden some days ago and spotted more pods on my pumpkin plant.

This particular pumpkin plant which produced the pods seemed destined to survive and flourish. Despite being from last year's planting, it weathered the dry season and are now producing, much to my amazement.

1st pod

2nd pod

3rd pod and more

The thing is, I wasn't really expecting it to produce more pods again, not after the first set of pods died off, dashing my hope of planting pumpkin seeds produced by my own plants. In fact one was much bigger than these ones here, but before you knew it, it started shrinking till it fell off. So you can imagine the excitement of seeing it produce again, even much more than the first set. It's as if nature is rewarding me for persevering, and I'm grateful for that.

I'm hopeful in few weeks time theyll grow much bigger, so I need to stake the pumpkin before then. I'll go to a nearby fallow farm or bush to cut strong sticks for that purpose.

Another crop that's giving me joy is this okra. It hasn't failed me for once, so reliable. Lol. Despite having suffered pests infestation, it still thrived and didn't stop producing fruits. Buying okra is now a thing of the past as I often get the much I need from my garden.

See the ones I harvested recently.

And here's one of the pests. 😂

Then to my flavorful curry plant. Still looking lush and green. I still marvel at how it started flourishing again after almost dying off.

Finally, my spinach, another joy giver. They've started producing seeds too. No, the seeds aren't edible, just the leaves. Lol.

Hope you can see the seeds

I'll pick them when they're dry and then store for next planting season. These ones planted here were from last year's harvest.

All in all, I'm filled with gratitude for having this small garden, where I can cultivate varieties of crops. And seeing the fruits of my labor – literally – is incredibly fulfilling. In fact, it's a sense of accomplishment knowing that the efforts I put into cultivating and tending to them didn't go to waste.

Thank you for reading.

You harvested so much from your plants very nice. Spinach is so healthy and the leaves very fresh, maybe you always water it. Keep on planting so you will always have something to harvest. God bless...

Yeah, I do water the spinach when there's no rain.
Sure, I love gardening.
Best regards.
