Give And Take: Karma Remembers!

While scrolling through WhatsApp status feed this morning, I came across an interesting question by a friend;

Is it true that karma doesn't forget an address?

Without a second thought, I sent a reply;

Not only that, but name and phone number too.
That's why we should be mindful of what we do here on earth because Karma no dey forget o!

He further asked;

Seriously? But do people know this thing you just told me?

Then I replied;

Yes, I think so, although they might not want to totally accept it totally.

We chatted for a while before I went off to attend to other things. But even while engaged in other activities, my mind kept wandering back to our conversation, leading me to ponder on the concept of karma and how it plays out in our lives.

While there are diverse opinions about the concept of karma, it doesn't change the notion that every of our actions have consequences, and the universe keeps tabs on them.

This notion portrays karma as a meticulous record-keeping system, which notes every deed - good or bad, big or small. Afterwhich it comes like a delivery man, handing out to each individual, a letter of what's been written about them.

Thought provoking, right? There's even more.

The ideas that karma can be meticulous and very thorough in its reckoning, remembering even the smallest details like an address, name and phone number might seem funny or maybe like a joke, but it shows that one's actions can come back to haunt them big time. Sometimes, it comes early, other times when when they might have lost track of the event.

Sometimes also, the impact of karma can go beyond the individual, affecting family members and loved ones too. Perhaps you've heard, read, seen or even experienced karma play out in this way. I have scores of them but I'll share one with you. It's a story about someone I know, a woman actually.

Some years ago, the woman attempted to harm someone through diabolical means, but fate had other plans. The consequences of her actions turned against her in a devastating way - instead of affecting the targeted person, her only son, whom she prides in, became the victim. What a tragedy! In this case, karma came early, but it's a pity that the innocent boy paid the price for the woman's wicked and inhumane action.

At the end, she not only lost her son, but her marriage too. When the husband learned what happened, he sent her packing and divorced her afterwards.

This tragic event is a poignant reminder of the concept of karma, where our actions can have unforeseen and far-reaching consequences.

This is no exaggeration. Karma leaves no stone unturned. What one sows that they shall reap, even much more.

Therefore, whether it's through personal relationships, professional endeavors, or everyday interactions, let's not forget that the energy we put out into the world can ultimately find its way back to us. Put out good and positive energy, and you're getting same right back. Do it the other way, and you know what to expect.

Finally, let's not forget that the universe is watching and karma is keeping records. Therefore, it's imperative that we consider the impact our actions may have on us and those around us even before we act.
