Beauty Of The Night!

I am not one to stay out late. Not that I'm afraid of the night, no, rather the bustling traffic - people rushing to get home by all means, the chaos, noise, and all that comes with night can be overwhelming and stressful.

However, the energy that exudes from the night often create a dynamic and lively atmosphere. This can be clearly seen in the image below.

This is Obikabia Junction, a popular site in my city, Aba. Nigeria. This junction connects various roads - New Umuahia road down to Omoba road then to Waterside, New Umuahia road to Umuafor, Ukaegbu, Umuola and Umuokahia/Umukalika roads.

During the day, the junction is nothing but a busy spot where people are concerned with finding means to get to their destinations and drivers hustling to get passengers. But at night, it transforms into a different world, with a unique atmosphere and energy. It now becomes a hive of activity - people bustling about, cars zooming past, their headlights illuminating the road and almost blinding one's eyes. 😂

The social activity and commerce part isn't left out. Loud music emanating from different corners of the junction, roadside food stalls spring up, vendors displaying their wares, and calling out to every passersby to patronize them.

I'll call this junction is my "area" because it's a consistent part of my daily routine. The junction is a regular stop for me, as I always catch a vehicle here either to head home, to work or any other parts of the city.

These photos were taken while waiting to pick a Keke tricycle home, after visiting a close friend I hadn't seen in months. We spent quality time together, catching up on old times that we forgot how fast the clock was ticking and before we could realize it, it was already dark. Lol. Since I didn't plan spending the night there, I had to get home.
