A Walk Through Georges' Street, Freezing Moments In Photos!
Happy Hump day, y'all. π Sure, you know what today is - #wednesdaywalk, an initiative by @tattoodjay I'm also sure you know how we do it - walk and snapshots . πΆ πΈ

So today's walk took me through Georges' Street down to Ikot Ekpene Road - the Aba Power Electric Company, where I went to address an issue with my electricity supply, which has been disrupted for several weeks now.
The stroll took me about 38 minutes to cover the distance from my office at 158 Azikiwe Road to the Power office. Of course, there were a few stops here and there - to capture photos and take in the surroundings. Well, I asked Google about the distance, and this is what it came up with. I guess I closed it up. Lol.

And oh, the weather was pleasant, with the sun shining but not overly intense. It was kinda warm but a manageable temperature.
Phone in, eyes alert and darting from one corner to the other, I captured some interesting moments along my way - something like a vibrant slice of Aba life. Hehehe.
Before taking off, I captured this photo right in front of my office building.

Another shot.

Getting to the junction - Azikiwe Road by Georges' Street, I captured this architectural building. It's a Methodist Church, though.

A little stroll, and my camera said, "I'm not gonna miss this one. Hehehe. If you find stuff you like, you can stop by and get it. π

A familiar sight along the streets of Aba. Treats and POS services spot, lol.

A bag dealer store. Beautiful designs.

There's no missing this autogele mannequin once you get to this location. Beautifully crafted autogeles are always on display. The business owner really has a great eye for style.

My next stop was at Georges' Street by Park Road junction. While waiting to cross the road, I captured this photo - front view of the former Unicoco Hotel. Established in 1973, history has it that it was the first hotel in Aba, and a hub for the city's nightlife and musical history. However, the hotel has been packed up for over two decades now.

Away from the hotel, I spotted a pharmacy store.

I stopped by to see the firemen, lol. So, here's the Aba Fire Service station. Check out the fire vehicles. Since the new administration came to power, the station has been up and running. Just a dial, and they'll be there asap. Kudos to them.

Away from the fire station, I passed by a car wash stand and snap snap. π

A mast from one of the network providers.

Beautiful, calm and serene.

And then a truck pusher with his helper came by. I'm guessing the package they're conveying looks like delicate stuff, with the way it's packaged.

A few more steps and I was at Garden Man Flower Spot.

I stopped by to say hello, and there I learned that business has been a bit slow. I encouraged him to keep hope alive.

Well, I plucked some African almonds and captured some flowers too.

Wanna learn how to drive, then contact them, lol.

I'm almost at the last lap of my walk. Here's Georges' Street by Ikot-Ekpene Road. I stopped briefly to capture the sights and sounds.

An environmental cleaning officer carrying recyclables.

Some women walking their bikes while returning from a busy market day, happy to have sold their wares.

I actually overheard their happy chatter, and I couldn't help but smile. Nothing beats that feeling!
And click click - the Aba Power Electric Company finally.

In the hallway, heading towards the customer service center, another click! Huh! Thankfully, the security officer hinted that the queue isn't long, just a few customers. How glad I was. π

And the final snapshot before I entered the customer service office.
Hey, don't tell him. π€ͺ

It's been a while since I had such a long walk - except for market runs, where I often navigate from one end of the market to the other. Hehehe.
The walk, beautiful sceneries, and the snapshots - some of which I captured sneakily were priceless, and I had fun. Thankfully, the electricity supply issue was resolved. I'd say that it was rather a productive day!

Is the tower near the fire station so they can spot fires? :D
Not at all, and that's not just any tower but network service mast.
