A Visit To Garden Man Florist Shop
Hello everyone, warmest greetings to you all as I welcome you back to my blog again. It's an exciting day as I visited one of the florist shops in my city today. This shop is located along Georges street by Ikot Ekpene road, Aba. This shop is well cited and everyone passing along the road won't miss it. Each time I pass there I do wish I could stop by and have a look and today proved a great opportunity to do so.
Luckily the florist was around and he enquired what I needed, I told him I just came to have a look around and asked if he would allow it.
He was surprised and said that he only have people who come to buy plants and flowers or make enquires and not to just have a look around. Well I told him that I love flowers and have been admiring his shop for long now while hoping to visit one day. He was happy to have me around and I engaged him in a chit chat first.
I asked the name of his business and he said that it was formerly called Rock florist but he later changed it to the Garden man and that he has been in the business for over two decades now. He further said that the business has been going very well as he has customers from far and near but that he do have some challenges. One is that none of his children is interested in the business including the wife and they do not even come around the garden so it's just him alone and one of the worker.
Another one is that people do come at night to steal the plants and flowers since the place is the open and not secured which leads to monetary loss. He ended that his utmost wish was for his wife or any of the children to join in the business so that even if he's no more, someone will carry it on just like the family of the man where he learnt the business. I really empathized with him hoping his wish is fulfilled.
After the chit chat he didn't waste time in showing me around while mentioning the names of some of the plants and flowers there.
So let's take a look at some of them;
Croton
Goodluck flower.
I was surprised with the name of the flower that I couldn't help asking him why it was called goodluck. He said that it usually bud in April and it's petals which are white in color attracts goodluck to the owners.
Ixora
We had this flower in our compound while I was growing up and I could remember how we will pick the petals, open it up and suck the liquid in it, lol.
Kings palm
Palm flower
Thuja flower

Couldn't help but notice the fruit plant you listed as hybrid plants. Thought they were natural and organic?
Plus its very annoying that these people who claim to be affected by the harsh Economic condition would rather steal from people who is all out for survival instead of the so called elites who has placed the economy on survival mode.

All the plants are natural.
It's so sad, indeed.
Ok 🙂
We'd do our best to be safe from them.
Children of these days are not interested in a lot of things, but it's really strange that even his wife does not show interest in it
These are beautiful dear. Thanks for sharing
It's really sad.
