A Twist In The Day!

Valentine's Day may be over, but I believe so many beautiful memories were made. Undoubtedly, these memories created, the feelings of love shared, and connection will surely linger on.

I don't know if I'm over imagining things, but this year's Valentine seemed like it was on low key here in my city. I didn't really feel the Valentine's Day vibe this year. Usually, boutiques will have an array of beautiful red and white wears displayed. Many persons would also be seen clad in these colors, and the valentine's spirit, or rather magic would fill the air. But this time, everything seemed normal, as if it was just another day. It was as if the valentine's spirit was engulfed by the hot weather ravaging my city. Or maybe the T-pain economy we've found ourselves in here.

Whichever it is, history has recorded 2025 St Valentine's Day. It's done and dusted. Sadly, I wasn't expecting any surprises, nor did I have any special plans for the day, other than work and my usual weekend shopping, then I'll head home to rest my tired body.

But somehow the day took a new turn. One of my colleagues, whose birthday coincidentally fell on this special day asked me to accompany him to Market Square to buy his wife's favorite bread and some other stuff, which I gladly obliged. Little did I know that this errand would bring a pleasant surprise my way.

As we shopped, he asked me to pick a loaf of bread and a pack of Hollandia yoghurt, for myself. Oh my!, didn't see this coming. Here I was thinking that I had the day all planned out, without knowing that fate would come with its usual twists and turns. Fate is always a master planner. 😂

I made a short video to capture the moment, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

My colleague's kind act really added a heartwarming touch to my Valentine’s Day, and I was so elated. I spent the rest of the day basking in the joy and positivity of the surprise, and feeling grateful for the kindness and warmth of those around me.

His thoughtful gesture is a wonderful reminder that Valentine's day isn't a day to be shared only with friends and loved ones, but also with those around us, making it a day to celebrate the power of human connection and affection in all it's forms.

It's still the season of love, let's not forget to show love, care and kindness to the next person. The smallest acts of kindness can impact someone's life, bring joy and brighten their day.

I can see the excitement in your faces. We all should show acts of kindness to everyone at all times not only on valentine days. I am coming for my own share of the bread and youghurt.
