Overview

Today I brought a Wild Ranked battle, where the mana cap and one of the ruleset made my decision for the lineup very difficult, so I had to make sure that I will either kill my opponent monsters quick or have a monster to outsurvive the continous fire damage. 😇

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

RulesetDescription
Global WarmingAll units have the Burning status effect applied at the start of the combat.
Up to ElevenAll units have the Amplify ability.

The mana cap for my next battle was 23, which is not much at all and I do not really like these kind of battles, because choosing the right monsters are heavily limited. 😊

The first and most important ruleset in this battle will be the Global Warming, which is a pretty new ruleset and the idea behind is that all of the monsters will have the burning status effect at the start of the battle, so from the second round they will take two fire damage just like it works with the Earthquake or the Noxious Fumes rulesets. 😜

The Up to Eleven ruleset is a tricky one, because it will enchance all the indirect damages throughout the battle such as Blast, Magic Reflect, Return Fire or Thorns, so it is important to keep this in mind and to hope that my opponent is not goint to bring monsters with these abilities. 😉

My lineup

image.png
The Pembrook Nymph is a Water Summoner, which is one of my favorite, because they have quite a lot of versatile monsters. She cost exactly six mana, which is not that cheap esepcially for this battle, but in return she gives +1 health to all of her monsters, which is good against the burning effect. On top of that she will be able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle, which are one of the most powerful monsters if they are able to start killing their target and they might have a chance to outsurvive the burning as well. 😊
The Hardy Stonefish cost only one mana, which is quite affordable hence I used him as my main tank, because compared to his mana caost he has quite a lot of armor and health, which makes him an excellent starter tank to protect my backline from the incoming enemy melee attacks. 🤗

Noa the Just is an amazing monster, because it is true that on its own he doesn't have any attack, but I used him more likely as an off-tank thanks to his good health and armor. Even without his ability to be able to attack he is quite good as a support monster as well, because thanks to his Rust ability he will remove two armor from the enemy monsters and his Evade ability will provide +25% extra evade chance to dodge the enemy melee and ranged attacks. 🤗
Musa Saline cost only three mana and her stats are not good either when the battle starts, but she has one very important ability, which usually works perfectly when their is a continous damage and that is her Scavenger ability. What this means is that she will be able to increase her own health by one every time a mosnter dies on the battlefield. 😎

Isgald Vorst is a special type of monster in this game, because he is a Gladiator monster and such he has the Blooodlust ability, which means that he will increase his own stats by one in csae he manage to kill his target, which is amazing if you ask me. He also has the Opportunity ability, so he will target the lowest health monster at all times, which will give him more chance to acquire his kills. 💪
The Venari Marksrat is a must have in almost any battle, not because he is so powerful, but because he has the Martyr ability, so when he dies he will increase all the stats of the monsters adjacent to him. Luckily the Global Warming ruleset will make sure that he dies fairly quick, so he will be able to activate his ability to boost his team mates when he dies. 😌

The Torrent Spawn cost zero mana, so it is very easy to use him. He doesn't have any ability, but at least he is able to attack for one melee attack in case he fell into the first position, but the chances for that to happen is very slim thanks to the Global Warming ruleset. He would by my backline protector if my opponent decides to bring Sneak attack monsters. 🤗

My opponent brought Owster Rotwell who is a Death Summoner and only cost three mana, which is nice. He is particularly good for this abttle, because he gives the Magic Reflect ability to all of his monsters, which is an amazing combination with the Up to Eleven ruleset. 😜

In the first round my Isgald Vorst attacked their Corpse Spawn first, because he had the lowest health from the enemy team, so he managed to activate his Bloodlust ability to increase all of his stats by one. Soon after I also lost my little tank, but that was okay, because he would die against the Burning effect anyway and this way he saved my Noa to take serious damage. 😊

At the beginning of the second round the Burning effect activated, so all the monsters had to take two damage, which killed three enemy and one friendly monster. 😧

The Scavange abilities were activated and that is why my Musa and the enemy Riftwing got so much health.

My Isgald was the quickest and such he killed their Cursed Windeku who dealt three (instead of the two) Thorns damage back to him. At least he managed to activate his Bloodlust ability once again! 😅

They had only their Riftwing left on the battlefield with his huge health, but our damage was more than enough to kill him and won this battle. 😇

Battle Result

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to try to deal as much as damage possible within the sortest amount time, because the Global Warming ruleset will quickly kill all the monsters on either side of the battlefield.

I had another option to outsurvive my opponent and that is why I brought Musa Saline, because her Scavenger ability might provide another chance to outsurvive my opponent. 😇
