Overview

Today I brought a Wild Ranked battle, where my opponent brought a little bit similar team like mine, but with a different Summoner and with different flavours. It will be interesting to see what will be the difference in order to win this battle. 😊

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

RulesetDescription
Broken ArrowsRanged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle was only 93, which is almost the maximum of 99, but I do not think that if I could bring that much mana cost monsters and they wouldn't even work together perfectly. πŸ˜…

At least the high mana cap helps me a lot to pick any kind of strategy or tactics to try to win this battle. The Broken Arrows ruleset will eliminate all the ranged attack monsters, so only the melee and magic attack monsters will be available, which makes the building of my lineup a bit more difficult. πŸ€—

My lineup

Franz Ruffmane cost six mana, but I do not need to worry about that thanks to the high mana cap. He gives +1 armor to all of his friendly monsters, so they will be able to block one incoming melee attack completely. His second power is the fact that he is able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle and many times they can easily decide the outcome of the battle. 😊
The Drybone Barbarian is an excellent tank and he is more likely an offensive one and not a defensive, because he has high melee attack, speed and health and his melee attack will be increased when he is Enraged. To get the 50% increase on his melee attack he has to be damaged. πŸ’ͺ

Marisol Contuma will be my Gladiator monster for this battle and she has amazing stats. Still her best ability is her Bloodlust as a Gladiator, which means that she will be able to increase all of her stats by one if she manages to kill her target. She also has the Reach ability, so she will be able to attack from the second position, which is a huge a advantage to acquire a kill. 🀞
The Djinn Renova cost seven mana, which is not cheap, but she has +3 magic attack, which will ignore all the enemy armors and deal damage directly to the enemy health. She also has the Triage ability, which means that she will be able to restore some health to one of her friendly monster once in every round. 😁

Iziar is quite expensive, but she has amazing abilities, which will help me to come up with amazing strategies. Her most important ability apart from her excellent stats is the fact that she is able to use her Taunt ability to drawn all the enemy backline attacks into her and to use her Void ability to halves all the incoming magic attack damages. πŸ˜‡
The Clockwork Aide doesn't have any attack on his own, but he has the Rust ability, which will remove the enemy armors by two. He also has the Swiftness ability, which means that he will increase the speed of his friendly monsters and maybe give some extra advantage over the enemy monsters. πŸ˜‹

The Meriput Magician will be my main healer for this battle, because he has the Tank Heal ability, so whoever will be in the second position he will restore some of its health back in every round. πŸ€—

My opponent brought the Helios Matriarch who is a Dragon Summoner and her power is to give +1 speed to her monsters and she also has the ability to bring one additional Gladiator monster just like me. πŸ˜…

In the first round my Barbarian got injured and he was able to activate his Enrage ability, which increased his speed and melee attack damage. He was powerful enough to kill my opponent Barbarian with one swing. πŸ˜‰

At the beginning of the second round their Marisol attacked my Barbarian and luckily he survived with one health and quickly used his Retaliate ability to get a free attack against his attacker. My Barbarian and Marisol joined together and killed their Marisol as well, which was an excellent teamwork.

The rest of my team and even my opponent backline all targeted our Iziar's, but they mitigated quite a lot of damage thanks to their Void ability.

In the third round my Barbarian used his huge attack against their Jani and easily killed her as well, but it was time for him to say bye, because my opponent monster killed him also.

Finally in the fourth round my team was able to kill their Iziar and in the beginning of the fifth round my Renova killed their Night Reaper as well. 😌

My opponent only had one monster remaining and he doesn't have any attack, so it was easy to kill him and to win this battle. πŸ€—

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy was to try to use a solid front and to try to divert most of the enemy damage into my Iziar who has the Void ability, because it was a huge chance that my opponent (just like me) would use a lot of magic attack monsters in their backline.

Luckily that worked out pretty good and my Renova healed my Iziar frequently giving her the extra time to sustain more damage than her counterpart. πŸ˜‡
