This week I brought a Wild Ranked battle where I had to play with a deadly ruleset, because everything will blow up. It requires a careful strategy and placement of monsters otherwise I can easily lost this battle. 😁

RulesetDescription
Explosive WeaponryAll Monsters have the Blast ability.
Keep Your DistanceMonsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
Even StevensOnly Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

The mana cap was 55, which is quite a lot and allows me to use any monster that are available for this battle. The Even Stevens ruleset is a huge barrier when I am about to choose a monster, because it will halves the available monster pool, because it only allows the use of Even mana cost monsters. πŸ˜‹

The Keep Your Distance ruleset is another heavily limiting factor setting up my team, because it means that no Melee attack monsters are available, so only the Odd Mana Cost Ranged, Magic and monsters without any attack type are in the pool. 😏

Even though these are quite bad rulesets the most important will be the Explosive Weaponry, because it will give the Blast ability to all the monsters on the battlefield, so essentially all of them will deal extra damage to the adjacent monsters of their target! πŸ€“

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Helios Matriarch

image.png

The Helios Matriarch is an excellent choice for this battle, because I will use an amazing Dragon to increase the attack damage of one of my monster who doesn't have any attack. She will also gives +1 Speed to all of her monsters and on top of that she will be able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into the battle if I want to do that. 😁

Main Tank
Usut
image.png

Usut will be my tank for this battle, because nobody can use any Melee attack monsters and he has a lot of Health with some Magic attack damage. He also has the Bloodlust ability, which means if he manage to kill his target he will increase his own stats by one. πŸ˜†

diablo_divider_no1_dragon.png

Off Tank and Weapons Trainer
Berix Snakeye
image.png

Berix Snakeye cost a a huge amount of 10 mana, but he is well worth its mana cost, because he also has the Weapons Training ability, which means that he gives +3 Ranged any non attack monsters next to him. That is pretty OP if you ask me. His Void Armor and hhis huge Health will protect him against Magic quite well and they can not ignore his Armor as they would normally do. πŸ˜‰

Damage Dealer
Will-O-Wisp
image.png

The Will-O-Wisp cost six mana and in return he has 10 Health, which is very good to sustain quite a lot of indirect damage from the Blast abilities. He doesn't have any attack, so he is the perfect candidate to be trained by my two Weapon Trainer next to him. Berix and Skok will give him +2 Magic and +3 Ranged attack, which turns him to a very good damage dealer. πŸ’ͺ

diablo_divider_no1_dragon.png

The second Weapons Trainer
Skok Duskblight
image.png

Skok Duskblight cost 8 mana, which is quite a lot, but he also has the Weapons Training ability, which will justify his mana cost. He has +2 Magic attack damage, so thanks to his ability he will be able to give his attack to my non attack monsters adjacent to him. 😎

My second Damage Dealer
Clockwork Aide
image.png

The Clockwork Aide doesn't have any attack on its own, so he is the perfect victim for Skok's Weapons Training ability to give him +2 Magic attack. He has the Swiftness ability, which will increase the Speed of all of his friendly monsters by one to give them a little bit of advantage to attack quicker than the enemy monsters. πŸ˜‡

diablo_divider_no1_dragon.png

The Stunner
Revealer
image.png

The Revealer cost only four mana, which is quite low for this kind of battle, but I had to use him because he has one very important ability, which is his Stun. This ability means if he hit his target their will be 50% chance to Stun it completely and he or she will skip his next attack. This is very important, because if it works the enemy monsters were lose quite a lot of damage. πŸ˜…

My opponent brought the Helios Matriarch as well, because he wanted to take advantage of the high mana cap and the Dragon monsters like me. He was also be able to use a Gladiator monster at the end of his backline, which has enormous Ranged attack. 😜

The monsters of my opponent was quite speedy, because he used the Water Splinter next to his Dragon Splinter, so most of his monsters attacked before mines, but luckily my mosters managed to kill their Djiss Oshannus just before the first round finished. Luckily the killing blow was made by my Usut who immediately increased his stats by one thanks to his Bloodlust ability. πŸ’ͺ

Our luck continued in the second round, because my team killed their Chaos Dragon as well and on top of that my Berix Snakeye killed their Baakjira as well using his Oppress ability, which will enable him to deal double damage against monsters that doesn't have any attacks. (Especially if they got their attack from the Weapon Training ability) 🀣

My Usut and Berix was about to die, because they had only one Health, but my Will-O-Wisp was quick enough to kill their Berix when the third round started.

Right after that my team killed their Kelp as well and their only one monster Ranged attack monster fell into to the first position and was unable to fight from there anymore, so my team finally won this battle for me. πŸ€—

A large 55 mana limit match with even steven ruleset, so the Usut and Berix at front really did a good job at front. Nice battle, keep playing and growing.

Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate that! πŸ™

I love that Weapon Trainers ability, because it gives so much option and tactic for battles where they ban too much monsters from the battlefield.

I was really surprised that my front managed to go through their powerful front rather quickly. 😁

Have a nice day my friend! πŸ˜‰
