Overview

Today I brought a Wild Ranked battle where the most important factor will be the Melee Mayhem ruleset and it would be interesting to see who is going to build a better lineup in this small mana cap battle. 😉

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

RulesetDescription
Lost MagicMonsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
Melee MayhemMelee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
FerocityAll monsters have the Fury ability.

The mana cap for my next battle is 20, which is not much at all, so it will be hard to figure out a good strategy and on top of that the Lost Magic ruleset will ban all the magic attack monsters from this battle. 🙃

The Melee Mayhem ruleset is one of my favorite, because all the melee attack monster would be able to attack from anywhere in our lineups, which makes it much more easy to assemble a good lineup. 💪

The Ferocity ruleset is a special one, because it will require Taunt monsters and against them all the monsters will deal double damage. It is very easy to ignore this ruleset, because if you do not bring a monster with the Taunt ability you are safe. 😁

My lineup

image.png
The Helios Matriarch is a Dragon Summoner, so she is able to use monsters from the Dragonand the choosen Splinter, which is quite good. On top of that she will increase the speed of all of her friendly monsters and being able to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle. 😊
The Halfling Refugee cost only one mana and his stats is amazing compared to that, but he comes with a great weakness, which is his Weary and that means he will skip his turn in every round by 10%, which is incrementing in each round by the same chance. 😉

Krash Wanderford cost only four mana, which is quite cheap, but he doesn't have any attack on its own and even though he has the Bloodlust ability the only chance for him to acquire a kill is his Thorns ability. Luckily my Ferexian Hero has the Weapons Training ability, so Krash would receive his melee attack and he would be able to attack from my backline thanks to the Melee Mayhem ruleset. 💪
The Ferexian Hero cost a lot of mana with his eight mana cost, but he is my key monster for this battle thanks to his Weapons Training ability, which will allow him to give his own melee attack (maximum of three) to his adjacent non-attack monsters. This would be huge, because for only 4 and 1 mana cost I will get two super powered monsters. 😋

I used Kra'ar Xoc as my second Weapon Trainee, because he doesn't have any attack as well and he would benefit a lot from my Ferexian Hero. He doesn't have too much health at the beginning, but as the battle goes on he would increase his own health by one everytime a monster dies on the battlefield, thanks to his Scavenger ability. 😌
Usually the Scorch Spawn is just a filler, because he cost zero mana and has plus one melee, which is perfect to take advantage of the Melee Mayhem ruleset. 🤗

My opponent brought Pembrook Nymph who is a Water Summoner and she is a bit pricey as well, because she cost six mana. Her ability is to give +1 health to all of her monsters and the ability to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle. 😊

The enemy team used the Pelacor Bandit to their tank, because of his high speed and the Flying ability in the hope that he will dodge some attacks, but luckily my monsters were super speedy and easily killed him with only two attack.

Their new tank was Noa who was pretty solid compared to the Bandit and he started to dodge some of our attacks. In the mean time their Isgald used his Opportunity ability and killed my Scorch Spawn, so he was able to activate his Bloodlust ability and increase all of his stats by one. 😉

The second round started amazing, because my team managed to get rid of their Noa who was the strongest tank in their team, which opened up their backline. Sadly their Isgald made a kill again, which further increased all of his stats.

Krash Wanderford became my new tank after we lost our Halfling Refugee and he immediately used his Thorns ability to kill their Furious Chicken and even that passive kill activated his Bloodlust ability and he also got plus one to all of his stats. 😁

In the third round Krash was the fastest with his +10 speed, so he quickly killed their Hardy Stonefish and used his ability again! Even their Isgald who is the strongest monster in their team was not able to hit him and in the following round my last three remaining monsters easily killed him and his little friend. 🤗

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My main strategy was to try to utilise the cheap non-attack monsters around my Ferexian Hero, because he has the Weapons Training ability, so he will arm his adjacent non-attack monsters up. This combination is amazing, because the Melee Mayhem ruleset will allow all the melee attack monsters to be able to attack from our lineup. 😇
