Social Media Challenge | How to battle against a pretty strong team? 😊

image.png

This week I brought a Ranked battle, where I will try to use a very important Gladiator monster of my choice, because I wanted to take advantage of his Bloodlust ability, which will increase all of his stats by one, but only if he kills his target. πŸ˜…

RulesetDescription
StandardNo change to standard gameplay rules or mechanincs.

The mana cap was 34, which is not that much to use a lot of big monsters, so I had to come up with a crazy strategy to capitalise the fact that the Bloodlust ability might be able to empower him in order to beat all the enemy monsters.

My opponent monsters were much stronger than mine and their overall damage was wy higher as well, so it was important to do a trick here.

Their will be no rulesets to modify the battlefield, which is pretty rare, so I need a strategy to only use monsters to create advantage over my opponent. πŸ˜‰

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Pembrook Nymph

image.png

The Pembrook Nymph cost 6 mana, which means that she is quite expensive compared to some of the cheaper Summoners, but her ability is to give +1 Health to all of her friendly monsters, which is also not that strong. On the otherhand her last ability is to bring one additional Gladiator monster into this battle which is quite amazing, because that would be a huge advantage over my opponent if I pick that monster carefully. πŸ’ͺ

Main Tank
Djinn Oshannus
image.png

The Djinn Oshannus is my main tank for this battle, because he has quite a lot of Health with very good Speed to dodge the enemy attacks. He has the Void ability, which will effectively halves all the incoming Magic attacks. His Phase ability is very good to dodge even Magic attacks and the Forcefield ability will reduce all the attacks with five or more to only one. 😊

Off-Tank
Noa the Just
image.png

Noa the Just will be my off-tank who doesn't have any attack, but his high Speed, Armor and his Dodge ability will ensure that he will give enough time to my Isgald Vorst to do his killing. He also has the Rust ability, which will decrease the Armor to all of the enemy monsters by two. πŸ˜‡

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

The Healer
Merdaali Guardian
image.png

The Merdaali Guardian is my main suppoert monster for this battle, because she has the Tank Heal ability, which means that she will restore some of the Health of my Djinn Oshannus or whoever is front of her. She doesn't have any attack, but her help is very important to outsustain the enemy damages. πŸ€—

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

The Key Monster
Isgald Vorst
image.png

Isgald Vorst will be my key Gladiator monster in this battle and that is why I brought Pembrook Nymph as my Summoner. He is a Melee attack monster and he has the Opportunity ability, which means that he will be able to attack the lowest Health monster from the enemy team and on top of that if he manages to kill them he will increase his own stat by one using his Bloodlust ability. πŸ˜‰

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

The Buff and Debuffer
Clockwork Aide
image.png

The Clockwork Aide doesn't have any attack on its own, so he is just my backline protector against any enemy Sneak or Opportunity attack monster. He has only one Health, but a lot of Armor, so he is a perfect monster to sustain a lot of damage. He also has the Rust ability to remove the enemy armors by two and also the Swiftness ability, which will increase the Speed of all of his friendly monsters by one. 😌

The Sneaker Damage Dealer
Pelacor Bandit
image.png

The Pelacor Bandit is a very nice budget monster who doesn't cost a lot of mana, but offers great Melee attack damage with very high Speed. His most important feature is his Sneak attack, which means that he will always target the last monster from the enemy team. πŸ˜‹

My opponent brought Octavia Shadowmeld who is a Death Summoenr and her ability is quite similar to my Summoner, because she will also be able to bring one additional Gladiator monster on her side. On top of that she will decrease the Health of all of my monsters by one as well. 😜

My team had two monsters with the Rust ability, so even though my opponent used the Ravenhood Warden to get +2 Armor my team removed four Armor from them, which made their monsters more vulnerable to my team.

In the first round my Pelacor Bandit attacked their Warden and damaged him down to two, which was perfect for my Isgald to kill him and activate his Bloodlust ability. 😁

Just before the first round finished I almost lost my Oshannus who had only one Health left and soom after my Guardian healed him up a little bit to sustain a bit more damage in the next round. πŸ˜‰

The second round started the same like the first, because my Bandit opened up the way front of my Isgald, which made him to be able to kill his target again and this time my opponent lost a very high damage dealer while he increased his own stats by one again. πŸ€—

Losing two of their damage dealers already my opponent didn't have enough damage to finish off my tank who also received some Heal before the second round finished.

In the third round the same thing happened again and my opponent lost another monster thanks to the perfect combination of my Bandit and Isgald. 😁

By the fourth and fifth round my Isgald was so powerful that none of the remaining enemy monsters had any chance to defeat him, so my strategy worked perfectly and my team won this battle for me. πŸ˜‡

Nice strategy and good explanation! The use of Isgald Vorst was decisive

Thank you so much for the upvote and comment! πŸ™

I love to play with Gladiator cards, because if they work they will decide the whole battle easily! πŸ˜‡
