Exploring Hive - A New World Beyond Facebook and Instagram

Don't just post and log out, then log in only when you want to post. Read the feeds of the communities, or try browsing other communities, you'll be surprised at how much you can learn here in the Hive Blogging Community.

Since I started appreciating Hive Blogging, I've moved away from mainstream social media like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. I noticed that there's so much more to discover here on Hive.

On Hive, you don't only see posts from your friends list, nothing is hidden from the public, and everyone can see your posts, there are no private profiles.

Because of this, the information you can gather is vast. You can discover new recipes, learn about different places you didn't know existed, find unique styles of art and crafts, and much more that you wouldn't find on mainstream social media.

On the social media we are used to, you'll mostly see women showing off their bodies (which also exists here but rarely, haha), people flaunting what they have, or whatever good is happening in their lives.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not annoyed by those kinds of people, but if I had to choose what I want to see on my laptop screen, I'd rather see interesting things.

On mainstream social media, you usually just see a picture post with a one-liner caption, unless there's a trending issue posted for trial by publicity, it's rare to read long posts there.

Try to spend more time reading content on Hive, trash posts are rare here (only my posts are trash, haha).

On Hive, it's not awkward to comment even if you don't know the user, it's normal and encouraged by the community. Unlike on Facebook or Instagram, where if you comment on someone you don't know, and they're not an influencer, you're called an attention seeker. Haha.

If you're not into talking, that's okay too, you can just read posts to increase your knowledge.

If you like a post, upvote it. If your HP is low and your vote has zero value, try availing tipping tokens to show your appreciation.

I'm not targeting anyone with this post, I just want to share that you'll get more out of spending time on Hive than just scrolling and looking at pictures.

Give it a try. I wasn't fond of reading at first, but when I started opening more posts, especially those with interesting titles, I gradually got hooked.

So, if I have nothing else to do, I just look for good reads here on Hive.
