Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: In Depth Look at Tasoshi Drakamoto

Tashoshi Drakamoto AI Art

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Splinterlands has been rolling out updates to keep the game exciting and competitive. This week, there were a lot of updates rolled out. Among the updates are Gold Foil Arcane Fortune Draws for Tasoshi Drakamoto will begin next week! The Gold Foil Arcane versions are already maxed out and highly valuable.

Here's my in depth look and take on Tasoshi Drakamoto.

Stats and Abilities

Tasoshi Drakamoto is an epic Fire unit. At level one, she deals two magic damage and has a speed of two. Defensively, she comes with two armor and a solid health pool of five. She also starts with the Sneak ability, allowing her to target enemies at the backline. By level two, she will get the Painforge ability while at level three, she unlocks Inspire, boosting the melee attack of all allied units by one. At level four, her magic damage increases to three, and by level five, she gains the Stun ability, giving her a chance to make enemies skip their next turn. At max level, she acquires her final ability, Spite, which ensures a Counterattack upon death. With a mana cost of six, it will be easy to find slots for her. It’s important to pick your battles wisely and assess whether her presence will give you the advantage.

Cost

A single BCX of Tatoshi Drakamoto is priced at 250 Vouchers, which is roughly $6. For those not earning vouchers and instead buying them off Hive-Engine, the cost might feel steep especially considering that some legendary Conclave Arcana cards are roughly in the same price range. Reaching level three, which unlocks Inspire and Painforge, will cost around $60, while a max level version comes in at a hefty $280.

Each purchase has a two percent (2%) chance for gold foil boosted with alchemy potions and a 1 in 4,000 chance for black foil, also chances can be improved with midnight potions.

Synergies and Combos

As a Drakoshan, Tasoshi Drakamoto benefits from the Bloodline Dominion granted by the Dragon Archon, Kavor Skarn. At level two, she can synergize with backline units that have the Reckless or Incendiary abilities. By level three, she pairs well with melee allies, amplifying their impact through her Inspire ability. I imagine her working well alongside Cavewise Wavefinder and Vicious Giraffe, providing an extra melee boost to enhance the Reckless/Painforge combo.

She can also work alongside Bren Palesworn who also has the Sneak ability. She can buff his melee attack while they disrupt the enemy units from behind with sneak attacks.

As for Rebellion and Dragon cards (remember that she can be summoned by Kavor Skarn), there are a host of melee cards she can work with.

There are the likes of Mantaroth and Venka the Vile, both neutral legendary melee units.

Night Stalker and Gobalano Soldier are other units that can combo with Tasoshi with similar utility as Bren Palesworn. Both are also melee Sneak attackers. Imagine all four units working together with a strong tank in front. It will rain hell on the enemy back line.

Fellow Drakoshans Dragon Egg Forager and Kei can benefit from her Inspire ability while also attacking from behind a strong tank. All three can benefit from the speed buff provided by Kavor Skarn's Bloodline Dominion.

Aside from Mantaroth, strong tanks that can be used with Tasoshi Drakamoto are Chaos Golem, Oridium Graybrow or the rare card Drybone Megalodon.

To take advantage of her Painforge ability, she can work with Kha'zi Conjurer or Songale in the backline.

Rulesets

Being a magic damage dealer, she will be good in such rulesets as Wands Out, Keep Your Distance or even Back to Basics. To take advantage of her Inspire ability, she can also be good unit in such rulesets where most melee units are used such as Melee Mayhem, Super Sneak and Equal Opportunity.

My Take on Tashoshi Drakamoto

Tatoshi Drakamoto is not a bad unit. However, for a promo card at that price, many players might feel their resources are better spent elsewhere. She’s a good card but not really special. While there are situations where she can be useful, she doesn’t feel like a key card in most lineups. Personally, I find the previous promo card, Kelan Gaines, has more to offer overall value and impact.
