Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Community Engagement Challenge. On March 18th Splinterlands will roll out the update to Land gameplay or Land 1.75. The #SplinterlandsLand update will introduce new elements to the game and will change the way land owners manage and profit from their lands.

Land 1.75

Land 1.75 introduces new changes to the way land will be played. Let's check out the updates.

New Resources

Wood, Stone and Iron will now be needed to make lands productive. Worksites will be dependent on the terrain. Consequently, grain worksites that are not matched to a particular terrain will be converted to the compatible resource like Wood, Stone or Iron upon their first harvest. Each resource has different production rates per hour per production point.

• Grain – 0.02
• Wood – 0.005
• Stone – 0.002
• Iron – 0.0005

Grain has the most production while iron at only 0.0005 per hour will be the most scarce resource. So how do we acquire other resources if we don't have lands that produce those?

New Liquidity Pools and Swaps

There will be new liquidity pools and swaps to be launched. These liquidity pools will give players more ways to trade and invest in scarce resources. Players can swap resources against each other directly through these pool and liquidity providers will earn fees giving another revenue source to players.

Strategies

There are a lot of strategies around land game play the players can apply. Players can implement these to increase their profits and enhance their game play as well.

Be Self Sufficient

Being self sufficient means having to produce enough resources needed to keep the land production running without any interruptions. There should be workers to who are staked in the land and each land producing each resource of Grain, Wood, Stone and Iron required to keep producing as well as some extra to be traded and make some profits.

Provide Liquidity

If possible, produce at least two of the resources in excess and provide liquidity in LP's. Providing liquidity will be another revenue stream for players.

Check the Market

Check the land market for any bargains now for lands that will produce the resources that you will need. There are still a lot of cheap lands in the market at the time of this writing. Similarly, check the card market for workers of your lands. Chaos Legion cards are the cheapest gold foils available. The gold foils are the best at working lands.

Conclusion

Land 1.75 marks a turning point in Splinterlands. This update will bring fresh opportunities and strategies to earn profits in the game. I'm also seeing this as a way to raise Splinterlands assets prices as the cards will have additional utilities aside from playing with them. The team has implemented a lot of improvements in the game and I expect more in the coming months. Land management will play and important role in how the game will be played and players who plan ahead will have a great advantage.
