"More Than Just A Meal: The Sweet Joy of Catching Up With My Brother After His Internship Duty"

Hello to all my dear fellow hivers! Hello to this wonderful @hiveph community! This is me again, "LJ" to share another lovely life story with you all. Today's entry is about something that truly brightened our week. This is the short stay of my brother who came home from Naga City, CamSur.

He arrived yesterday, fresh from his two-day duty at the hospital where he's currently completing his internship as a Medical Doctor. Since he only had a duty for two days, he decided to spend the rest of his free time with us. The moment he arrived, the whole house instantly felt happier and livelier. It had been more than a month since we last saw each other, back when we visited him at his apartment in Naga City, Camarines Sur. That's why we were all so excited to have him home again. Everything in our home feels a little more comforting.

He arrived around 6 p.m., and since I was also a bit tired from the day, I suggested that we all go out for dinner instead of cooking. I invited him and the rest of the family to eat at "Kapetera", our go-to cafe whenever we want something cozy and familiar. Kapetera has always been one of those places that instantly makes you feel at ease. The warm lights, the relaxed atmosphere, and the delicious food always make it a perfect place to unwind.

When we got there, we did not even have to spend much time looking at the menu because we already knew what to order. We just picked our usual favorites, the meals that never disappoint. It did not take long before the food was served, which was great because we were all already hungry.

As soon as we started eating, the table was filled with conversations, laughter, and stories. My brother shared about life at the hospital, his busy shifts, the funny moments with his co-interns, and even the challenges that come with the medical field. Even though he sounded tired, you could still hear the passion in his voice, like he truly enjoys what he's doing despite the long hours.

We also updated him about everything happening at home, the small things, the funny things, and even the random chitchat the families love to talk about. It felt refreshing to be together like that, seated around one table, enjoying food that we love in a place that feels familiar. How I wish my other brother was here to complete our family dinner but he was so busy in the city with his make-up gigs.

After dinner, we headed home with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. My brother's short stay in our home felt special, it meant so much to all of us. Sometimes you don't need big events to feel joy. Sometimes, just being with the people you love after some time apart is more than enough. Moments like this remind me how comforting and grounding it is to come home, and how being surrounded by family can make even the simplest day feel unforgettable.
