A Night To Remember at Naga City: Cozy Family Dinner at “Chef’s Kitchen Retro”

Hello to my dear fellow hivers! Hello to this lovely community of @hiveph! How are you today? I hope you are all doing fine. This is “LJ” and here I am again to share another wonderful life story to you all. So this is the continuation of our family visit to my brother in Naga City. I’ve already posted it in my recent blog.

Family Dinner @ MPlaza.png

The next day, after a lazy and restful morning we decided to go out for a dinner. My brother suggested we visit “M Plaza” since it’s one of the go-to spots in Naga City where you can find different restaurants offering a variety of food choices. When we arrived, the place was lively and full of people. There were families, groups of friends, and couples enjoying their night out. The lights around the area gave such a warm vibe, and you could feel the cheerful energy all around.

We walked around first, checking each restaurant and reading the menus displayed outside. There were so many good options that it took us a few minutes to finally decide. In the end, we chose to dine at “Chef’s Kitchen Retro” because it had a welcoming ambiance and an interesting interior design that gave off a bit of nostalgia. The staff greeted us with smiles and quickly led us to a nice table that could fit our group comfortably.

As soon as we sat down, we went through their menu and ordered some of our favorite dishes like baked tahong, beef mushroom, chicharon bulaklak, fries, buttered chicken and sizzling sisig. While waiting for our food, we chatted and laugh about random stories, from childhood memories to funny things that happened during our trip. It felt so good to just sit together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company without rushing.

When the food arrived, everything looked so appetizing! The baked tahong and fries were flavorful and cheesy. The beef mushroom was tender and savory. The buttered chicken and chicharon bulaklak were perfectly crispy on the outside yet juicy inside, and the sizzling sisig was hot with right amount of crunch and spice. Each dish was delicious and everyone enjoyed every bite. We ended up sharing everything, just like we always do during family meals.

After dinner, we decided to stay for a bit longer and watch the live band performance happening nearby. The music added to the lively atmosphere, and it was nice to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the songs while chatting. My family and I clapped along to the familiar tunes, and the band’s energy made the night even more memorable. It felt good to end the day surrounded by laughter, good music, and great company.

Wait—is it in Naga City, Cebu? Or like in Luzon? The food you ordered looked yummy, especially that tahong! It's been a long time since I last ate tahong, so seeing this made me crave some.

Yes, eating with family really hits different because aside from good food, you'll also get to enjoy each other's company :)

Same question hahaha. I think it is in Naga City, Cam Sur. If my memory serves me right, we passed by this place going to Garchitorena.

Ohh I see, I see...my hunch is really right...I mean I already strolled a lot of times in Naga City in Cebu, but I haven't seen that restaurant there, so yeah, it must be really in Naga City in Luzon haha

Thanks for the clarification '◡'
