VEILED
(Edited)
VEILED
Behind the veil of glitz and glamour
Half eaten by the dark
Lies a soul in fettered grandeur
Decaying in the sac
Tossed to and fro, from sin to sin
By the happenings of time and chance
Battered through thick and thin
A victim of circumstance
Her lines are fallen out of place
Hanging loose beneath her reality
Beyond the smiles on her pretty face
Are those red eyes of agony
Where else can she go away from her plight
As the world keeps racing around
She must win in this fight
But her faith is falling to the ground
What can a bisected life suffice?
One smiling, the other crying
Death might finally be the price
For she's been lying, whereas she's dying.
Life is much more easy and happier when lived in simplicity, don't you think?
We pressure ourselves with the faux lifestyle just to impress people, thinking they're actually impressed. Most often, people are envious of what you have and not necessarily happy that you have them. But there you are trying everything to impress people with faux lifestyle.
Women especially, go extreme to get themselves under the knife just to alter their bodies to fit media standards of perfect beauty. In the end, they live with the consequences, and painfully so.
Honestly, we don't need too much to have a happy life. Contentment doesn't hurt. We injure ourselves with lust, envy and greed — desiring things that even push us far away from happiness and fulfillment.
No one wrote the script for your life. You're not an actor in your own life. God has perfected all that concerns you. You are wonderfully and fearfully made. You're God's signature. Don't mess up the brand with faux living.
