Daddyhood
(Edited)
Out of my loins, sweat and breath
Ferried by pain and pleasure;
Out of those enchanted nights -
The pool of blood and creamy rush;
Those ecstatic instances
of passionate drills
that got a lucky chance
to finally make me a father
I need be proud that I am a man
And here, in my arms, I carry
My blood. My sweat
My genes. My child.

This is one of the shortest poems I have written. It came as a thought of how it would feel for me to hold my child for the first time. I particularly love babies, and the thought of all the process people must go through to bring a new life into existence just blows me away. 😂
