RE: Wood Ceiling Project

Kudos to your father in law for working in the death zone πŸ‘. I take it he's a experienced DIYer than you. The wood ceiling adds a lot more warmth and softer touch to the room now, well worth the effort.

As to the panels, it's really difficult to say coz I think wood shades changes over time as you've noticed already. Personally I'm not too fussed with the shades. Maybe give it a few more months to see if it will grow on you, before you insist on changing it. Though I have an inkling who will end up winning πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

Btw the way, love your dining chairs, the back is so beautiful. And the black leather armchair by the window. I can imagine how gorgeous it is to sit there looking out.

Ya he did a good job in the death zone and worked a lot quicker than I would have. It worked out in the end.

My mind/opinion has been the same on the panels since we bought the house - actually before we officially bought it. I like them but they are not the style that we are going for so to me they clash.

The dining chairs are vintage Niels Moller. We found them on FB marketplace and got a decent deal, so that was a win. We have two extra ones that I need to re-cord. That might be a small winter project
