Walk around THE RUINS OF : “El Cargadero de mineral de Agua Amarga” Cabo de Gata - NIJAR in SPAIN 🇪🇸 ~ WednesdayWalk

Hi all 👋🏻😊

Join me today as we walk around some IRON MINING / INDUSTRIAL RUINS in the Natural GEOPark, its location was in the PARQUE NATURAL #CABODEGATA #NIJAR that lies in #ALMERIA ~ SPAIN 🇪🇸

With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge. That are hosted by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng every week on Wednesday.

‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in!… the community is run by @tattoodjay.
Look at his last #Wednesdaywalk post.
It will tell you also the rules of joining at the Wednesday walk posts 😁 come join us! It is fun!

Today’s selection will be of 32 PHOTOGRAPHS
Date: 25 September 2017.
The Photographs in this post are all taken with my phone 📱🤓
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

Location of these RUINS we find on the following screenshots on google maps from my phone with the yellow star or arrow:

Zooming in bit:

Let me show you around on this walk during a hot ☀️ September day several years ago

The following sign gave us more information in Spanish:

Some information in English you find on the following website See here!

‘It tells you all about the site and how the #iron was transported via a rail line inland and via the docks onto ships… as it is right on the #Almeria #coastline… now only ruins are left.’

Let’s discover what is left from this site now.
As you can see the landscape is barren.

As we come closer we see more ruins.

2 paths, we follow first the lower path that leads us into the valley / ravine. (Where the dock for the ships was)

The views change a lot as we walk further.

Looking around we see also other structures. Like this one that stands out in its landscape.

Signs of some retaining walls that are part of the site.

I see a dragon 🐉 🫣

DO YOU SEE ITS HEAD? 🐲

Hahaha pretty cool what you can “see” looking around.

In the ravine more ruins pop up.

We reach an awesome tower now 😎 (my favourite photo of the day)

Looking down to more remains of buildings.

Let’s walk around the tower.

We are on a cliff now, very close to the water.

This area was where the docks must have been.

The water has such a beautiful colour of blue 💙🩵

Zooming in on the coast and the details 😊

Looking to the right I see lots of little #boats 🚤 anchored in place. In the distance more high #cliffs.

Sandstone edges and bright blue water 🥰 so beautiful. I could use a swim after this walk 😁

I see an opening in the bottom. Is it a cave, or a hidden room?
I am on the wrong side of the mountain to check it out this time. 🤓

Walking further… back from where we came but slightly a different path.

The top of the mountain next to us.

yes, yes… I am coming hahaha 🤣 I am always behind taking hundreds of photos. How can I not 😇

Let’s walk further now…

We are going to check out the ruins at the top, the other path higher up. 😊

Wow this looks pretty cool 😎

We are high up now. Our views are stunning 🤩
We can see the little village down below. White washed houses…. 🥰 that’s where all the boats were.

A little further inland… we can see rather far.

A table top mountain? Maybe… 🤔

Some cute details….

And… a little bird peaked just its head up, on the wall. Do you see it?

It was a nice walk around this site in Cabo de Gata… a very interesting area to discover in Spain. I went there while I still lived in Spain. Check it out when you are in the area one day 😊

…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
Join me next time for more #updates, #adventures, #stories and #photographs 😎👋🏻

my favourite photo of the day

I agree cool tower!

the little village down below. White washed houses

Very lovely village. Nice view 👍 I followed the link for us Americans that only speak English 😊 very interesting. I wondered how old the ruins were and was surprised that they aren't more ancient. You really can't tell the age because only stones and walls and rock structures are left now.

It was cool to see it still in a reasonable good state.

I believe we did visit that little village too and had some lunch in a cool restaurant on the side.
All the white washed villages in Spain are lovely to visit.

I tried to find more about it but it was all in Spanish. Luckily it did tell enough about the site and what they did there. It does look so much older I must agree.
Some things do disappear quickly. In 50 years It will be gone more I think.

Have a nice day!

It's a gorgeous place. It is difficult to imagine how many times these ruins have, what events have happened here, and how many generations have passed.

What an exciting walk! To think, there must have been a lot of activity going on here many years ago!

Yes, I think your favorite photo is an awesome photo of an awesome tower...and the most amazing photo was the one of the "dragon"...lol!

Have a great weekend, @littlebee4!

At old ruins like this I'd always ask if there are any reports of ghosts or hauntings. 👻
