MOVING/ ROADTRIP to a new COUNTRY 🧳 📦 🚗 Part 5.2 from 11 KIEL harbour ~ LET’S WALK AROUND THE FERRY ⛴️

Hi all 👋🏻

With PART 5.2 from 11, I will show you a walk around, on the deck and inside the STENALINE FERRY. What is a part of our journey to our new home 🏡 and country 🗺️

These 11 parts will be about our move “driving” ourselves to our new COUNTRY 😊 of residence. Some parts will include some subtle hints, via text or photo 😅😉 so pay attention and see if you can guess where we are heading for!

When we were checking in at the desk inside of the large building, we had these views over the harbour of #KIEL GERMANY 🇩🇪 (You could see this in my last part)

We saw a lot of new cars parked on this parking lot. I don’t think they are coming along with us.
We see Kiels skyline 🏙️ in the background.

A view towards more parked trucks and camper vans. Some did join us but not all.

We did have a nice view towards the Stena #Germanica ⛴️
When it is time to board, the large blue cargo hatch comes down and vehicles can drive inside. Let me tell you there were many 🚗🚙🚌🚛🚚🚐🏍️

After check in we walked around a bit as we had about 30 minutes left before we have to be in the car.
The front of this ferry ⛴️ is soooo large.

I am behind some gates here so I can’t get closer to the ferry yet. But I take some photos through the gates 📸

Walking back to the car now as it started to rain heavier 🌧️🌧️
On the left you see some special transport that hold expensive and exotic cars. I did read it on a few trucks.

More cars joined us now and we start driving slowly towards the passport control area.

We see through the gates some cars are entering the ferry ⛴️

It took a while to get to the passport control 🛂 it’s dark now.

Finally we are driving further, vroom vroom…

Almost there…

If you see the grey “curtains” one floor up… that’s the floor where we are heading for.

And we are inside the ferry ⛴️ this hold is so large… wow!

Up we goooooo….

We are almost the last ones getting on. As most of the trucks and cars are already in place.

Driving all the way to our spot till we are in place. The man on the left is in charge of placement 🚗

Once we are out of the car we walk through the hallways to find our cabin. Let’s say… it was on the far end of the ferry ⛴️ hahaha so we walked for a while.

After we dropped off our bags… we are going to explore the ferry ⛴️ by walking around.

For the little ones there are fun games on the walls 😁

As we want to check out where we can get to the deck. We go up to the top floor and check it out.
To be honest… nobody is there. The weather is rather bad. It rains hard and the wind is just crazy. The floor / deck is covered with at least 2 cm of water.

It is now almost 17:52h, soon we will leave the harbour. As the wind is just crazy now… we are heading back inside.

Let me show you more from the areas we can access 😁 there are shops, the same idea like a duty free shop at the airport.

More questions…

There is a bar and entertainment area… later in the evening some music. 🎶

The bar… I don’t take photos from everything that is on the right. People can get there dinner in the form of a buffet. Let me tell you… it looks like there are hundreds of people.
Too busy for us. So we don’t join them, we have a better idea for dinner later.

We found a doorway to the side of the ferry… on the side out of the wind. We go there now as we feel the ferry is leaving the harbour 😊

👋🏻 Bye bye GERMANY 🇩🇪 👋🏻

As the ferry needs to turn around in the harbour… we decide to go to the other side as soon as the wind and rain is getting too bad on this side. It is not visible on my photos sadly…

Time to head to the other side. We are on the 7th floor almost in the middle of the side.

We sail now past the area we got onto the ferry and the building where we checked in 😁

It’s cool to see the lights and dark sky everywhere 😎

Next to us a rescue 🛟 for the observant reader… this ferry is indeed heading for #GOTHENBURG #SWEDEN 🇸🇪 during a night sail from over 14 hours ⛴️
Some of you are guessing Sweden (next) and for now, let’s say the next parts will be Sweden 😉😇

I love the night sky and the skyline of Kiel 🇩🇪

Bit by bit we are slowly sailing out ⛴️😎

We just see the outlines of the church ⛪️

I like the purple lights 💜

A castle like building with a flag on top 😊

We decided to go to the ferries restaurant now, not where they served the buffet. It was still crazy busy there.
It’s just past 1900h now. Ideal time to go for dinner for us. As somehow we are still on Spanish food times. Hahaha 🤣 lol

I will share with you the arrival of the ferry in part 5.3, with some early morning views 🌅 and what happened during the night 😂
