Let’s visit today ~ Travemünde strandpromenade in Germany 🇩🇪 ~ Adventures with Beth the Van on my 6000km journey last August
Today I want to show you a walk around on the boulevard of Travemünde strandpromenade ~ in Lübeck Germany 🇩🇪
I visited this beautiful spot the day before we hopped with Beth on the ferry north. We had brought half of our belongings down south for our upcoming country move. 6000km there and back in 20 days.
This was a well deserved stop for an entire day to just enjoy the august sun.
I will show you the boulevard, some cool iron wind art works, seagulls and ducks, the beach at Lübecker Bucht - that goes towards the Baltic Sea. Even some stunning flowers, awesome architecture with some very typical looking hotels and a large sailing ship with 4 masts.
Sounds interesting, come along and walk with me to see it all.
With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk #challenge. That is hosted by @tattoodjay every week on Wednesday.
‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in!… the community is run by @tattoodjay

Today’s photographic selection will be of 26 PHOTOGRAPHS
Date : 18 August 2025
The Photographs in this post are taken with my iPhone.
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my adventures on this walk to #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.
Location of Travemünde - Lübeck in Germany we find on the following screenshot of Google Maps :
We start our walk on the end of the boulevard and walk slowly towards the harbour and its beach town.
Next to us in the grass we see some cool wind artworks. Here the orientations with a fish.
After a walk we see behind us a lovely calm sunny august day. Not many clouds on the sky.
Another wind artwork with more fish.
This one has a sign with more info on it, who it made and the title.
I like this form… the coloured glass, catching the sun beautifully.
It’s called “windpyramide”
Yes, the name fits well. What do you think?
As we walk further along the waters edge on the boulevard, I spot this seagull. Sitting high above us… watching the world go by. And us haha
As we reach the beach from this town we look out far… see the waves crash slowly on some rocks. But… what do we see.
Some ducks? In the sea water… very interesting.
They must eat some algae's or so. Don’t think it is fresh water.
We see one really large high rise building in the distance. Luckily most are not towering out of the landscape. Shall we walk a bit further?
We are at the edge of the town and see some sea resort (town) kind of houses. Look at their cool architecture.
In some planters I find beautiful dark red flowers. Of course I had to capture at least a few.
Beautiful aren’t they?
Suddenly a few beach side hotels pop up. A very interesting architecture on this one.
The next one screams German seaside town. Very well maintained gardens.
As we walk further and reaching almost the old town we see a street food market is setting up. Not open yet as it is still before noon. Maybe we stop by later when we walk back again.
Now we reached the harbour and see ships and boats all around us.
Looking back. What a lovely day for this walk.
Not much further we see on the opposite side a sailing ship. Really large with 4 masts.
Zooming in a bit. I wouldn't mind traveling on it one day. It would be such a cool adventure. Would you go on such a ship?
Next to us on the boulevard we see a small replica of this sailing ship.
Little boat houses… on the right.
And on our left more sailing ships.
After we visited some little shops and slowly started our walk back, we go for a nice cold drink at a beach bar. Close to the streetfood market.
As we are sitting for a while, some large container ships come by. It looks so close by.
We say goodbye now, as I am going back to packing up the last items.
Tomorrow a cleaning the cabin day and Friday we start driving south 3500km again with Beth, our fully loaded van.
If I go quiet… I am on the road, sleeping in a tent next to Beth. Probably with limited wifi for a while. We hope to arrive in 9 days at our storage unit to unload the second van load. 🚐🚐 Some pretty cool new adventures after that. No, not telling you what yet… I will keep you posted (if I can).
…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
Join me next time for more updates, adventures, #stories and photographs.
Even my own artworks, once in a while, will come by.
Thank you so much for looking, and reading.

Hey @littlebee4 you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘
Here, our container ships don't make it so close to residential/ commercial / beach areas. They literally come into a place called Outer Harbour - and it is really, well - out of the way of most of the suburban beaches.
The scale of the things must be incredible to watch while seated at a "regular" place, and not at a container terminal!
Yes, I haven’t seen many places that the container ships come so close. Even the next day in the ferry. We went out that way. Very interesting in many ways.
It looked so incredible… just sitting at the beach bar and suddenly truly large ships come by. The docks were even further inland.
Some things one remembers longer. This is one of them.
Have a wonderful day.

Hello 👋 @littlebee4, it's great to have you active again, this time from Germany. How is your health?
You know, the sculptures you show in the coastal area are very original and full of imagination by their creators.
It’s a fishing area with a maritime tradition, from what I can sense in the atmosphere. It’s really beautiful, and you also show some flowers 🌺 that are just amazing, oh my gosh lol.
Greetings, my friend, and have a beautiful day!! ☺️🙏🏻

Beautiful captures of you. I got goosebumps - those clear skies, beautiful flowers, and all🤗
Your photos are great. You managed to capture the soul of the place. Up to here I can reach, in my imagination, the murmur of the waves and the smell of saltpeter.
What a beautiful ship, The Passat a 4 masted barque launched back in 1911. It's currently serving as a Youth Hostel and not fully sea worthy at it's current state regarding regulations. It does have an inboard 900 hp engine. I'd love to visit this ship one day.
