Hi all 👋🏻

Let’s fly with me from Ireland 🇮🇪 to the UK 🇬🇧 ✈️
I will be there 2 weeks and drive back with the car… via the ferry ⛴️ later in July 😊

I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my adventures with me, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes of this #flight, #plane, #airport, #clouds and #views. 😊
@papilloncharity Zac here are the plane photos, we talked about.

After I was picked up with a taxi 🚕 and dropped off at the IRELAND WEST AIRPORT KNOCK.
I walked inside and saw:

In the distance the check in area…

On the right, rather high up… the destinations one can fly to from this small airport.

(yes I know… this photo didn’t come out well, was still holding my bag and trying to capture a photo with one hand hahaha 🤣)

I went upstairs to look outside the windows and check out what was there.
I saw one plane. ✈️

I was wayyyy too early at the airport. As I didn’t know this one, I wanted to be earlier to explore it a bit before my flight. 🤓

After I walked down again, I thought let’s go through security. This literally took not even 2 minutes 😁 my fastest #security check ever!

I ended up in the area behind duty free. There is some seating, a bar and restaurant and only 3 GATES.
Let me tell you… it was full. No seats left as at that moment 3 planes would be boarding and take off shortly.
I didn’t take photos as there were too many people.

I waited…
And waited… 😋
Until the planes left and the waiting area was empty again.

So I could sit down and watch the world go by 🤓

When it was time to board… I could see two planes ✈️ through the windows.
As it turned out, the furthest away one will be my plane. 😊

After a little while we could go outside, yes… we had to walk in the rain 🌧️ to the plane…

Inside the plane… I have always a window seat 💺

My view outside… more people are getting on both planes.

And we start…. Rolling over the tarmac. 😎

Now we see the rain on the window and the control tower at the end of the wing… 🌧️🌧️🌧️

We are approaching the runway and see the green lights through the window. 🌧️
I though it makes for some pretty artistic photos, so I took some more 🤓

Once we start to go faster… we see the rain running over the window horizontally now 😉

We go faster and faster….

And we have liftoff 🛫✈️

The rain is vibrating now on the window… rather interesting 🧐

✈️✈️✈️ go through the clouds…

What we see now, no rain… it is a bit bumpy though as the wind is very strong this day 🌬️🌬️🌬️

As we are still climbing up… 🛫 the plane reaches above the clouds. And we see 🥰 bright blue skies and sunny weather up here 😎 such a difference.

A little bit higher and the captain 👨‍✈️ will level the plane ✈️

We will fly just above the clouds the entire way… such a pretty sight. The cloud cover is really thick this day 😁

After a little while we start to go down…

…through the clouds ☁️ 🛬

And we see land 😊 it’s cloudy in the UK too, just like Ireland. The weather is the same.

Here we landed and are on the runway 🛬✈️

Our view around 😊

Getting closer to the arrival area, we see the control tower sticking high above the buildings. 😎

After the plane stops… we have a bus 🚌 towards the arrival area.

I am rather fast outside the airport… not many other planes landed at this time.
Outside I see this beautiful artwork on the wall. 😊

Such a great decoration.

I walk further and see this artwork at the departures area. 🤓

I look around me…

And see where I have to go. Hubby will pick me up soon 🚗🚗

With Marry Poppins style, one have to stick to umbrella with both hands giving no chance for hands to grab camera and take photos. This would be inconvenient - as there will be nothing to share later at Hive. So in this sense the plane is preferable, although of course more expensive. @littlebee4

I would not have been able to take photos for this post.
So all good in the end 😉
This flight as it was only 55 minutes wasn’t that expensive luckily. (42 euros… with bags)

Were there many bags? if they were, than its another limitation ... travelling with a weighty luggage hardly can combines with Mary Poppins light technique (umbrella has a limited capacity, me thinks). what do you think?

Handbag and a 10kg cabin suitcase 🧳
So… with that… hhmmm will be difficult to manage an umbrella 🌂
I think it won’t want to take off 🛫
So still the plane was the best option 😊

one could easily mount a 360 degrees camera on an unmbrella , or a body-cam or even an action cam😁☂️☂️

Ah! I never use this sort of stuff so did not think of this option... but I am aware of it: GoPro cameras etc. Indeed, thats a nice idea! that way the video @littlebee4 could share, will be a Top Grade Stuff. Take a notice for the future relocations, then. !BEER

Yes and No… it will be in Ireland. We just need to find “THE” spot to buy a cottage to fix up and some land.
Ireland is big so in the next months to come, once I am back… we will explore a lot of regions 😎
Can’t wait.
This of course… if nothing changes work wise. As work could change all even countries hahaha 🤣

Yep, we know all about that. As our last 7 moves were because of it. Not the Scotland - Ireland one… that’s because they didn’t approve my residency as they left the eu and Brexit.

Just a little longer, one day we have some more freedom 😎

It is, I love to travel. And flying is so convenient… and fast. This was just a 55 minute flight.
I can imagine you can’t wait for more trips. 😉

Let’s hope those kind of checks go as fast in the future… hahaha but I doubt it at the bigger airports !LOL

Yes, time flies fast.

Oh I have those days too.
We did go out for dinner tonight. With hubbies father and his wife. So it was a nice time.
Now everybody is relaxing from a long day out.

I also prefer to go early when I don't know the area as you did at this airport.

I think the take-off is the part I like most...feeling all that power! Although, the views from way up there are...oh so spectacular... Maybe I should just say I love flying...LOL!

Fly me to the moon (I think it was a movie or a song) !LOL
Lovely pictures and I thought that Ireland was much further away from the UK.
Here in South Africa, we fly 120 minutes between our two major cities.
I thought that you would also show us a photo of you and your beloved husband, but no such luck. Maybe you cried too much in his arms 🤣🤣🤣

Nope, Ireland and the UK are close together. It took only 55 minutes between Knock airport and East Midlands in the UK.
So easy actually and quick. That’s why we though… why not 😉

Oh I am sure of that. A lot of the European countries are so small.
Take the Netherlands… my country (kinda) it’s sooooo small. Nothing compared with all the other ones.

Here's my dream. One day we will travel to the Netherlands and I will rent a mobile home. Then we will drive throughout all of the European countries to end up in Austria 😉

That is the normal outcome after a separation. I never knew my father and he never contributed towards our upbringing, only to find out that he re-married and that they had 5 sons. My mom only remarried after all of us were out of the house and my gran had died. A few years after she re-married, she was killed in a car accident.
Such is life.

My own mum remarried and I am from her second marriage. Meaning I have somewhere 3 half brothers in their 70ties or close to 70. My mum is 89 already.

Sheez! What a co-incidence. So you also have some step-brothers walking around somewhere.
The eldest one of my lot came to visit me once after my father's funeral in 1982, and that was it. Never saw or had contact with any of them again.

Managed to post my Wednesday walk before heading out for another walk with family. About a Norman 13th century castle.
Then we went out for lunch and a long walk after.
Now back and resting…

Hi Zac,
Yes… weather changes a lot. Here (UK) it was very hot today 30 degrees Celsius the time I have been here the temperature was around 22. So a big change.
Tomorrow we leave family and go for 3 nights for a city break.

Hi Zac,

That’s cool she rings every Sunday.

We arrived all well today. But had a lot of rain and thunder and lightning along the way when we drove.
This evening when we arrived we rested a bit. Went out for dinner and got all rained on 🌧️🌧️🌧️
It looks like the next day more rain. We will be exploring this city between the showers. Hehehe 🤭

It’s not too big. And from here we can easily drive to the ferry on Tuesday. So we don’t have half a day to drive. Just 1,5 hours to get there.

10C degrees here today and 1C in the early morning hours. Plus power cuts now at night for the next 3 days. Not very pleasant.

So much easier when the driving is shared as it takes a load off having to concentrate for 3.5 hours.

Many years ago two of us also shared the driving on an 18 hour non stop trip. So yeah, I have a bit of experience when it comes to shared driving.

That’s great… it’s always nice to share.
When I drove over 5 days down from the Netherlands to southern Spain in my classic mini, I did it alone the entire trip. Slept behind the steering wheel too hahaha that was in 2015. My friends drove with a camper van behind me with my belongings.
We arrived very late last night in Ireland, back home. The journey and ferry crossing went well. Also the customs part 🎉🎉

It did rain here a lot, so I thought this morning. I study the weather carefully and we drive out of the rain.
So we did. We drove 1 hour 40 minutes to the west and south ish. And reached a magical location.
A large estate… castle turned abbey, with grounds so large it needed a bus to go between areas.
A large walled garden, a gothic church… the back drop was a mountain and in front of it a lake. It was so beautiful and definitely worth the drive.

Always a good thing to study the weather in an unknown area and over here it is easy, as I simply have to go outside to watch the clouds, as they tell me the wind directions. East, hot, west, cool, north, rain and south, strong winds.
That estate sounds like a perfect venue for photography and knowing you, there will most certainly be a post about it, so I will join you guys on the outing when I read the post 😉

No heating here as the electricity is too expensive. So what I am going to do, is to wait for summer, asw then interior fireplaces are cheaper. So, I will get one and install it in the house.

Luckily our heating isn’t electric we are on oil in a tank.
Yes I fully understand. Electricity is crazy high here too. We avoid using a lot.
Sounds like a great solution.
Yes I know… we have heating here. In Spain we didn’t and it was freezing in the winter. So that’s a big plus of the northern countries.

We don't have those heaters here, although we have gas heaters, but I don't like them. So, I am going to install an ordinary wood burner.
We got rid of all of our electrical appliances, including the kettle and it's only the fridge that remains.
The electrical geyser is only switched on for 1 hour every day, so that we can shower.
Great that you guys now have heating for those icy nights.

Luckily we do now. This last week we even had the hearing on a few times during the day.
I think we are still adjusting to the cold.

Yes, I am too. It is much nicer than the heat in southern Spain. If I see the temperatures they have at the moment. I am glad not to be there, now it’s over 40 degrees Celsius

It was the same in our case. Higher up in the north of our country it goes past 40C and when we moved down here, we were startled by the cool weather. Now we are used to it !LOL

Spent the whole morning at the hospital for a follow up and it's all a mess, as now I had to see a new doctor (Number 3) and he told me that he is leaving today, so at the next appointment I will see another new guy and it's a very troublesome situation.

Oh, but of course some shopping had to be done. I don't know what it is about you females, as the shops drag you in like a magnet 😊

Ah, a girl so after my own heart, as shopping do not flow through my veins. I think that I go into maybe one shop per year and then it is to get batteries for my camera from the Canon shop.

I flew ✈️ last Tuesday to the UK to join hubby. And have been out and about with his family members for the last 3 days. Busy times… So I couldn’t squeeze one in.
I will next month 😉I will do an update on all my stats then and an overview of my account growth now we passed 1,5 years 🤓
We drive back home the 11th and cross the water with a ferry ⛴️ (importing the car 🚗 to Ireland too)
Then hubby can move to Ireland and I am not alone there anymore since May.

Two planes and yours was the furthest... A 50/50 chance and you drew the short straw. I'll bet it was a nicer plane at least! Oh, what a nice view once you lift up over those clouds. I love popping out on the blue side of the sky! But the flight is pretty quick and in the blink of an eye, you are there.

What? They don't make you walk? :) That is okay, I really like the small regional airports. But, I appreciate all the artwork in this one. Wow! That was quick! I can only assume you hooked up with the man and off you go! 💚

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Yep… it had to be the furthest away with the rain and walking through it… it shouldn’t be all too easy hahaha 🤣😂 !LOL

The East Midlands airport UK is rather big, they don’t allow you to walk around there. In Ireland it was sooooo small they did. I don’t mind, as long as it is dry.

The flight was only 55 minutes. It was so quick before I knew it the cabin crew was getting ready for landing again. Yep… even on that short flight they came round with a trolly for drinks and snacks.

Hubby arrived shortly after and we drove to his dads for half the stay… about 1,5 hour trip.
We leave tomorrow to visit his mums for 4 days and then off the Chester for a bit before the ferry ⛴️

I have been 1,5 months in Ireland and I traveled now to the UK with the plane ✈️ in 55 minutes from Ireland.
To join up with hubby again. As I missed him, being alone in Ireland. We will drive over from the UK to Ireland on 11 July again via the ferry ⛴️ so he can finally move too. 😎
He couldn’t move earlier with me in May.
