☃️❄️ Let me show you the beautiful MERLO CASTLE from the year 1883 in the snow, TIMRÅ ~ SWEDEN 🇸🇪 🏰

Come along and visit today with me the STUNNING MERLO #CASTLE from the year 1883 during a beautiful #winters day. ☃️ Its #architecture is very unique and just wonderful to see. The location from this castle is in the town of TIMRÅ, just above SUNDSVALL ~ in the Västernorrland County, #SWEDEN. 🇸🇪

It is so well preserved and this castle 🏰 has luckily undergone many restorations over the years. To preserve its character of almost a fairy tale castle from a long forgotten time…

So without further ado, let’s visit this castle now 😁

Did you take your gloves 🧤 and scarf? 🧣 Ok, good 😊
We can start now our walk together as we are all warm and wrapped up well.

At the entrance of the estate, we see a large gate. It is luckily open so we can enter.

The small road has trees on either side that guide you further into the distance. We can already see a glimpse of the castle 🏰

Its yellow bricks 🧱 stand out against the white of the snow ❄️

As we walk closer by we see more and more… oh this is EXCITING 🤩 next to the path we see some lanterns, it is too light for them to be on already. Our visit is during the morning around 11 o’clock 🕰️

Finally! We see the castle in its full glory 🏰 🥰

WOW 🤩 Just look at the towers the shapes and all the #architectural #elements / #features

We take a closer look. So many details to see. The red bricks 🧱 draw beautiful patterns on the yellow walls and also around the windows. Such a stunning feature.

We look closer at the left side of the building. The top part. It so looks #romantic 🥰

Shall we focus on the middle part of the castle?
I see a large balcony.
I can imagine sitting before the large bay windows… looking out over the estate. Trying to see the wildlife that visits during the winters days.

Back to the left side. The castle must have many nooks and crannies with so many layers and towers 🏰

The right side of the castle… we have to walk a bit further to see it properly.

As we walk further, we look back towards the path we came from. A beautiful view along the treelined path 😊

I couldn’t resist to show you the tower a bit better.

Finally we can see the right side better. It is where the entrance of the castle is. Protected by the other thinner tower.

We stand further away and take in the entire view of this stunning castle.

What a beauty, don’t you think?
It wasn’t open for visitors here yet so I can’t show you the insides. The time of our visit I don’t believe anybody was there.

The castle has some unique features. The Christmas tree in the front looks cute and fits the Christmas mood 🎄 in December.
Slowly we walk back and look one more time…
