In Garret's Lair (Audio On)

The AI tools are appearing fast and furious. I was attracted to one called Rendora because it uses a mix of traditional digital and novel AI tools to create a 3D show based on your script (or that written by an AI).

First you choose an avatar and modify it the way you would in a video game. You can choose the look like hair style, facial features, clothing, and so on. There's a number of options for voice and tone. Once the avatar is all set up, you can choose a background studio from a number of templates available.

The magic happens when you add your script to the AI editor, either written by you or with the help of the software's AI. I chose to write it myself, but I was impressed by the AI tools available to refine the script. At this point of script drafting, one can add hand gestures commonly seen during presentations, tv shows, video podcasts, and so on. These gestures are reflected in the avatar presentation, so you can time them exactly within the script.

In addition, you can add your own images (or stickers to use their term). As you can see in the video, I was able to position my personal shots in the desired location. I also resized some of them. The number of tools available is growing. You can add video, text, audio, effects, and so forth. The power of media at your fingertips. There’s a free and paid version, which among other features, also gets rid of the animated watermark you can see in the free version of the video.

Overall, I liked using this tool. It was straight forward and has enough features to do some cool stuff.

This is my first post in this new community, Invisible Horizons. This video depicts an alternate imagined world that is half real and half digital. So, I thought I would share it here. Please let me know if it doesn't fit with the community's objectives.

I almost felt like I was there in the studio with Garret, and although limited by some presets, I was impressed with the amount of control and features available this early in the software's development cycle. I never thought I would ever do a video show like this, so this opens up exciting possibilities.

Thank you for viewing!

I haven't used that kind of tool yet, but the video is amazing! Now we don't know what's real and what's AI! Thanks for letting us know about the tool!

It's a great tool that shows a lot of promise. You can use your own images like I did in the video. For some people this might be a new way to show their content.

I also prefer to use my photographs... and write my own stories; it's a matter of taste.

Hello @litguru,

I truly appreciate your enthusiasm in being the first to inaugurate this community. Your contribution is valid and valued; however, it’s not quite aligned with the essence of this space.

To preserve the coherence and harmony of our vision, it’s important that we respect the community guidelines, which were created as a reference for participation.

In the community’s welcome post, we made it clear that this is a space for imaginary journeys through real photographs—in this case, it should have been a real video, not one generated by AI.

I warmly invite you to revisit the participation guidelines.

1 - Fictional journeys, real settings.
2 - You’re welcome to write in English or in your native language—no pressure at all.
3 - You may use any literary genre to share your story. Let your creativity lead the way.
4 - Share your own photos.
5 - We’d appreciate it if you shared something small that brings you joy at the end of your post.
6 - Respect above all. No abuse, aggressive language, or offensive content.
7 - Genuine interaction among members. Engage with intention, comment thoughtfully.
8 - No plagiarism.
9 - No spam or excessive self-promotion.

I would ask you to edit the post so that it aligns with the guidelines, but in this case it would require a brand new one—so I'm truly sorry. 🤷‍♀

We’d be delighted to welcome you and read your stories—this, too, is something I wish to emphasise: stories. What you’ve shared is a review of Rendora, which belongs elsewhere.

Thank you for the clarification. I wasn't sure if creating alternate environments with a mix of AI and personal photographs like this would fit in this context and manner.

I honestly have no idea... what we want are real places, even if the stories we live in them are fictional or imagined. AI is not real, and besides, we want authors to write their own stories—not to use AI to do it for them. Should I include that in the rules too? 🤔

I think in the absence of examples, I had to guess. So as more people write and the feed populates, it will become clearer to creators.

Surrounding the issue with AI, it's very tricky because I used a mix of AI and my own photographs and text, so I think it has to be made clear that the focus should be text and images (or video) that do not rely on AI. You will likely need an AI detector for text if you're concerned that people will use it to generate the whole text. AI Images are also looking realistic lately, but I don't know if there's a way to detect it.

This community is a great idea, so I hope it grows. Thank you for this clarification.

You're welcome and thank you for your good wishes. I moved the part about using one's own photos and videos to the second point in the rules to make it clearer. AI is a tricky subject, but I believe we all know it's 'not real'.
