Winter Coming? Bring It On!

I have a heated vest under my jacket, and at 6 degrees C (feeling like 4 degrees or 39.2 F), my face is red and the top of my ears is burning as the cold westerly winds blow over the frigid Pacific ocean.

The waves are choppy, and seeing the wonderful effect of the light on the rising and crashing waves, I position myself at the edge of the water, where the foam spreads outward like fans.

Nice creamy waves

Have you ever tried drawing or painting a wave? It is a fiendish problem, especially if you view it with an engineering eye. Da Vinci famously drew sketches of streams eddies in order to understand turbulence, and to be honest, the drawings don't look so polished. Yet, he appears to have taken what he learned with this exercise and used it to draw the intricate knotted hair of the women that he painted. Genius! (if the story is true)

I realized I wasn't going to get cool effects with the sunlight filtered through hazy clouds in the atmosphere, so I went on my merry way.

It wasn't long before I came across another Canada heritage moment. A gentleman wearing nothing but shorts entered the frigid choppy windy waters of the ocean and had himself a polar bear swim.

You cannot pay me enough to do this, but maybe with a wetsuit, it might be bearable. My toque off to this man with icy balls of steel ❄️❄️

Red as a lobster

As for me, I opted for some warm comfy tasty Pho Goodness instead. 🙃

The waves were choppy and created nice patterns along the shore.
