Found in the Lagoon
Lost lagoon is located in Stanley Park and sports some of the most amazing views only a few minutes from downtown. The blue backdrop mountains, the water, and the fall foliage all make for scenic views.

This body of water used to be part of the ocean but after some work on a nearby viaduct, it was turned into a fresh water lake.
I saw a variety of ducks species in the water, including one species that I haven’t seen before: the hooded merganser. This duck sports an illustrious white crest that looks very noble when extended. You can also see this duck in the video.

Other ducks were diving near the surface, where half their body remained visible out of the water, as they searched for food at the bottom.

At the nearby Lost Lagoon Nature House, I found a poster with illustrations of different species found in this area.

Inside, they had models (possibly taxidermic) of birds that inhabit the region.

This natural space is not too far from downtown, and it's a great place to enjoy the scenic sights and learn a few things about the ecosystem around us.

Wow, the merganser is so cool! I've never seen one in real life. I love ducks and all their antics, like how they stick their butts up in the air when they look for things to eat below the surface.
It was so funny to see the ducks feeding that way. Usually, I see the Mallard ducks, but once in a while more exotic ones show up. 🦆
Thank you! 🌼
Always a pleasure! 🦆🦆🦆
It transmits me a lot of peace and tranquility... how beautiful the lake with the birds, nothing better than a nature video, thank you!
This is a special place where nature envelopes you and captures the imagination.
