The Wings of an Angel

Out and about in the forest, I came across secret growth of fungi on an old fallen log. It has been raining heavily, and this makes it ideal for the mushrooms to do their thing.

I don't know my mushrooms very well, but it seems that this is an angel wing mushroom (Pleurocybella porrigens).

I like their delicate and elegant white gills scattered along the mossy log. They almost look like adornment in this magical forest realm.

They appear in the rainy season after August. If this is indeed an angel wing, then it was once considered edible but might be potentially poisonous, so it might be better to leave them alone ☠️

Their whiteness is striking, and how they stand out against the surroundings... they look like little coves! Beautiful!
I like that shot with the clusters. They look so aesthetic and ghostly in the forest.
Halloween is coming, there may be decorations...
