Thank you for this comment, because through your comment, I am learning something too! Because the Ostrich is commonly found in South Africa and on the African Continent, we (well, I do...lol) tend to take it for granted that everybody will know an ostrich!
The ostrich is mainly found on the African continent according to this post on britannica.com. They can also be found in other countries where they are farmed with mainly for their feathers as you will see in this post.

I've never seen an ostrich in real life, so to me it's very exotic. You're right, something that appears common in our homes, it's amazing to others. Like the other birds you showed, they look so unreal :)
