Nature in the City

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe these are Japanese maples. They're in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by various buildings. I like how they went out of their way to create this area for the trees, instead of just paving the whole thing. This is one of the reasons, I enjoy living here. In spite of the size of the city, there are trees and plants everywhere because for the most part, people ensure that nature blends with the artificial. It doesn't always work, but in general, this is a nice green city, or red as the case may be.
