Field Notes
I recently posted about the Capilano park and suspension bridge, which is located in the north shore mountains, a few minutes from downtown Vancouver. I was impressed by all the different design elements of the park that make it visitor friendly. Up to a certain extent, naturally, this is still the wild.
When one crosses the bridge, you come to a central plaza where you can seat around tables and enjoy a few treats from The Cabin or just enjoy the canopy view.

Home of the otter balls in the mountains
I like the design theme of this place with its rustic look. In this same area, there were also several installations in the form of larger-than-life book illustrations that mixed science, art, and design.

The scientific information is actually fairly comprehensive in its scope while still being entertaining in the artistic sense.

Spider!
One of the neatest installations was this group of ants climbing up a tree. This is a great way to fire up the imagination, and it makes the forest come alive by putting you in the perspective and scale of the many creatures that call this place home.

Awesome idea!

What a beautiful place but... if I see that huge spider I'll run away!!!!
They look very real up close, and it's a little unsettling.
🤣
