A Royal Visit- Part 1

The Royal British Columbia Museum is located in Victoria, BC, and houses several exhibitions on the bio-cultural history of this region. Unfortunately, one whole floor dedicated to indigenous people had been closed for updates, and I didn't find out until I had purchased the tickets.😖 No worries, there's much more, and I got the goods.

I just had to stop in front of these doors to admire the craftmanship. Click to enlarge

I'm fairly sure this is what it's going to look like in this province on the day of reckoning

Wonderful infomural. I like how the real fossil seamlessly blends into the graphic.

Welcome to the ice age, if the cold doesn't get you, one of these horny dudes will

I cannot express how astonishing this mammoth exhibition looks in real life. It is a true-to-life size and just wow! Our ancestors were bad-assess hunting these things down. That trunk is probably the size of a human. I don't care how tough you are, you're not bringing him down with your fists, so sharp sticks it is, gentlemen.

If I had a time a machine, I would go in the opposite timeline of whenever this thing exists. Thankfully, it's just an enlarged model

I wish bears were more friendly, but they got issues. Just look at those claws.

I was going to end the post with these seals, but I'm not too keen on the shot, so I'll throw in some crabs for the road. Thank you for visiting!

Me too!! i bet that the future will be really good!
Those are nasty beetles. The ones that are alive today destroy the forest because they infest the trees around here. The ones in the past used to be bigger.
Wowww I love it!!! What a fantastic museum!!! All ultra giant, I want to go to one like this!😍
They did a wonderful job of the exhibits. They're very lifelike and makes you feel like you're in the scene.
This is my favourite!

Those are great! All these animals can be found in this area. I just noticed the star fishes on the wall ⭐️
They are beautiful!
I hate when I purchase a ticket and it doesn't say on the website that part of the museum is undergoing a reconstruction. And it happens quite often. You still saw some great collections though 😊
I saw a few people standing in line and then leave. So, I was curious about this. It all made sense later. They must've read the fine print 😄 I'm still happy to have seen the rest of the exhibits.
