Muchas veces he sido protagonista o inspiración incluso para muchos posts en este ecosistema que es Hive. Por supuesto, esos posts no eran de mi autoría, sino de mi esposo @alto96. Ahora puedo integrarme como creadora.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Lisbet Rosales, soy cubana, traductora y mucho más. Soy originaria de Contramaestre, pero desde que me gradué de la carrera de Lengua Inglesa de la Universidad de Oriente en el 2024 vivo con mi amado esposo en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba. Tengo 24 años y trabajo como la traductora oficial del Centro Cultural Africano Fernando Ortiz, en Santiago de Cuba.

En el campo de la traducción, por el momento solo trabajo con el idioma inglés (y por supuesto, el español, que es mi lengua materna), pero actualmente estoy tomando el curso básico A1 de francés en la Alianza Francesa acá en Santiago. Me apasionan las lenguas extranjeras y, aunque no tengo la meta de ser políglota, sí me interesa el aprendizaje de varios idiomas como serían el alemán, profundizar y mejorar mi ruso, y hasta quizá un idioma asiático (o dos) como el japonés o el coreano.

Hello! My name is Lisbet Rosales, I am Cuban, translator and much more. I am originally from Contramaestre, but since I graduated from the University of Oriente in 2024 I live with my beloved husband in the city of Santiago de Cuba. I am 24 years old and work as the official translator for the Fernando Ortiz African Cultural Center in Santiago de Cuba.

In the field of translation, at the moment I only work with English (and of course, Spanish, which is my mother tongue), but I am currently taking the A1 basic French course at the Alliance Française here in Santiago. I am passionate about foreign languages and, although I do not have the goal of becoming a polyglot, I am interested in learning several languages such as German, deepening and improving my Russian, and maybe even an Asian language (or two) such as Japanese or Korean.

Me gustan los animales, de hecho tengo una pequeña amiga que me ha acompañado por los últimos 3 años, mi perra Nymeria. Quizás hable sobre ella en algún post más adelante. Me gusta la naturaleza (guajira al fin), me encanta caminar por los montes, ver la naturaleza y sus maravillas en vivo y en directo. Como toda cubana que se respete, soy adicta al buen café, aunque últimamente he hecho ajustes en mis adicciones, en búsqueda de un estilo de vida un poco más saludable. Sin embargo, nunca rechazo una buena tasa de café.

I love animals, in fact I have a little friend who has been with me for the last 3 years, my dog Nymeria. Maybe I will talk about her in a later post. I love nature (guajira at last), I love to walk in the mountains, to see nature and its wonders live and direct. Like any self-respecting Cuban, I am addicted to good coffee, although lately I have made adjustments in my addictions, in search of a slightly healthier lifestyle. However, I never turn down a good cup of coffee.

Me encanta pasar tiempo con mis amigos. Muchos no nos vemos desde que nos graduamos de la Universidad en junio del año pasado, debido a que ahora todos trabajamos. Sin embargo, estamos creando una iniciativa para reunirnos todos los domingos para charlar y reírnos un rato.
Me considero una persona afortunada, mis amigos son, como decimos entre nosotros, una 'válvula de escape'. Y la verdad es que uno necesita poder contar con los amigos en estos tiempos tan turbulentos.

I love spending time with my friends. Many of us haven't seen each other since we graduated from college last June, due to the fact that we all work now. However, we are creating an initiative to get together every Sunday to chat and laugh for a while.
I consider myself a lucky person, my friends are, as we say among us, an 'escape valve'. And the truth is that one needs to be able to count on friends in these turbulent times.

También me gusta ejercitarme, de hecho tengo mi pequeña historia con los deportes. De niña solía ser muy activa, así que siempre estuve en deportes. El primero que practiqué fue gimnasia a la edad de 4, luego estuve una larga temporada en nado sincronizado, hasta que terminé la escuela primaria. Finalmente, practiqué Tae-Kwon-Do con mi papá como entrenador, así que sé defenderme bastante bien, por así decirlo.

Me apasiona lo que hago y espero contarles mucho sobre eso, ya sean experiencias laborales o personales. He podido apreciar desde las experiencias de mi esposo el extenso, diverso y creativo ecosistema que es Hive. Comienzo con grandes ansias no solo de mostrar lo que pueda ofrecer, sino también de aprender y disfrutar de un ambiente tan pacífico.

I also like to exercise, in fact I have my own little history with sports. I used to be very active as a child, so I was always into sports. The first one I played was gymnastics at the age of 4, then I was in synchronized swimming for a long time, until I finished elementary school. Finally, I practiced Tae-Kwon-Do with my dad as a coach, so I know how to defend myself pretty well.

I am passionate about what I do and hope to tell you a lot about it, whether it be work or personal experiences.
