Hola amigos de Hive, hoy quiero hablar sobre un tema que he querido tocar desde hace algún tiempo ya. Es algo que veo en Hive a diario y considero, como practicante de mi profesión que deberia al menos comentar al respecto. Hablo nada más y nada menos que de las traducciones de posts hechas por alguna app de traducción, en otras palabras traducciones hechas por máquinas.

Sean conscientes de que es una crítica constructiva. Como traductora me llama la atención y quise hablar sobre ello con el objetivo de ayudar. Ahora, quiero empezar diciendo que las traducciones hechas por apps no es un problema endémico de Hive sino que es un fenómeno que se ve presente en muchas otras áreas del internet.

No culpo ni juzgo a quienes usen esta alternativa para llevar su contenido a otros idiomas. Yo misma hago uso de apps de traducción, no porque me falte conocimiento sino porque facilita muchísimo el trabajo y una vez hecha la traducción completa solo me queda revisar y corregir errores, los cuales son mucho más abundantes y a veces más aberrantes de lo que creen. Esto es debido al hecho de que por ser una máquina o un programa no posee el conocimiento contextual y socio-historico-cultural necesario para realizar una traducción adecuada a lo que el autor refiere.

En muchas ocasiones veo traducciones que es evidente que fueron hechas por apps de traducción, lo cual, honestamente, se distingue a una legua de distancia. A veces el autor quiere expresar algo en específico que el traductor no comprende y traduce literal. Es bien sabido para traductores, linguistas o conocedores de tema que las traducciones literales el 50 % de las veces estan erradas. Por desgracia esto es algo que solo alguien que conozca el idioma puede notar.

Soy consciente de que una traducción por alguna app es la opción mas factible y accesible de cualquier usuario que no conoce el idioma. Y la intención de este post no es solamente lanzar piedras como dije al inicio, es por eso que quiero recomendarte las apps que uso para que soluciones la barrera del idioma. Recordar que por muy avanzada e "inteligente" que sea la app o programa siempre va a faltar el factor contextual y social que solo un ser humano puede traducir y llevar de un idioma a otro.

En mi caso suelo usar tres apps para ayudarme con las traducciones y aqui te las muestro para que tu tambien puedas usarlas. En primer lugar esta el traductor, que a mi modo de ver es el mas completo y coherente de los que he probado: DeepL , con una capacidad de traducción de 15000 caracteres. Si la cantidad de caracteres es muy limitada puedes hacer lo que hago yo, divide el contenido por párrafos y ve traduciendo de a poco. Esta cantidad justa de caracteres es lo que le permite realizar una traducción lo más acertada posible. Sin dudas confio en la capacidad de esta app, lo cual tampoco la exime de comerer algun que otro crimen con las traducciones, pues es una app. Pero realmente los errores son mínimos y simples.

La segunda opción que te aconsejo en un sitio web llamado LanguageTool. Este es un sitio web diseñado para corregir posibles errores de gramática, sintaxis u ortografía. Ojo, este web site no traduce, solo corrige. Su uso combinado con DeepL es una muy buena opción pues si al DeepL se le escapa algun error este sitio web te lo corrige.

Finalmente, la tercera opcion que te propongo para que mejores en tus traducciones es la app de IA llamada DeepSeek. No diria que es la mejor IA que existe pero realiza un análisis previo a responder tus preguntas que es lo que la convierte en una opción confiable. Así que, si tienes dudas de como se traduce algun dicho, frase o quieres saber como expresar lo que quieras comunicar en el idioma de llegada, esta app te va a ayudar muchísimo.

Quizás existan otras apps de las cuales no tengo noción pero sin duda estas me ayudan muchísimo a mi en mi proceso de traducción. Por lo tanto considero que a ustedes tambien les ayuden mucho. Ahora, tambien ronda en mi cabeza una idea que puede facilitar mucho el proceso de traducción, pues le quita el peso al autor de hacerla, confiando en profesionales capacitados para ello. Creo que lograr crear un servicio de traductores profesionales en Hive que hicieran nicho en este entorno que se dedicaran a esta labor debe lograr un plus en la calidad de los posts bilingües, o en los que los autores no tengan dominio de la segunda lengua ya sea inglés o español e incluso algun otro idioma como francés.

Definitivamente yo misma formaria parte de dicho proyecto. Por lo cual me mantendré enfocada en esa idea, incitando a amigos traductores a unirse a Hive e incluso ofreciendo mi ayuda a los usuarios de hive que deseen una traducción más acertada. En cuanto tenga avances con este proyecto volveré para informarles.

Hello friends on Hive, today I want to talk about an issue that I have wanted to discuss for a while. It is something that I see on Hive on a daily basis and I consider that as a practitioner of my profession I should at least comment on it. I am talking about the translations of posts made by some virtual translator, in other words translations made by machines.

I want to make this observation from the most positive point of view. Be aware that this is constructive criticism, don't see it as an attack or anything like that. It is simply that as a translator it interests me and I wanted to talk about it as a way to help. Now, I want to start by saying that translations by apps is not a problem endemic to Hive but a phenomenon that is present in many other areas of the internet.

I do not blame or judge those who use this alternative to translate their content into other languages. I make use of translation apps myself, not because I lack knowledge but because it makes the job easier and once the translation is complete I only have to review and correct errors, which are much more abundant and even sometimes more aberrant than you think. This is due to the fact that, being a machine, a program, does not allow it to have the contextual and socio-historical-cultural knowledge necessary to make an adequate translation to what the author refers to.

On many occasions I see translations that are clearly made by translation apps, which, honestly, can be noticed from a mile away. Sometimes the author wants to express something specific that the app does not fully understand and translates it literally. It is well known to translators, linguists or subject matter experts that literal translations are 80% of the time wrong. Unfortunately this is something that only someone who knows the language can notice.

I am aware that a translation by some app is the most accessible option for any user who does not know the language. And the intention of this post is not just to throw stones as I said at the beginning, that's why I want to recommend you the apps I use to solve the language gap. Remember, no matter how advanced and "smart" the app or program is, it will always lack the contextual and social factor that only a human being can transmit from one language to another.

In my case I usually use three apps to help me with translations and here I show them to you, so you can use them too. First of all there is the translation app, which in my opinion is the most complete and consistent: 'DeepL' . This app has a translation capacity of 1500 characters. If the amount of characters is very limited you can do what I do, divide the content by paragraphs and translate each at a time. This right amount of characters is what allows it to make the most accurate translation possible. No doubt I trust in the ability of this app, which does not exempt it from committing some crime with the translations, because it is an app. But the errors are really minimal and simple.

The second option I recommend is a website called LanguageTool. This is a website designed to correct possible grammar, syntax or spelling mistakes. Notice that this website does not translate, it only corrects. Its use combined with DeepL is a very good option because if DeepL makes a mistake this website will correct it for you.

Finally, the third option I propose to improve your translations is the AI app called DeepSeek. I wouldn't say it's the best AI out there but it performs an analysis before answering your questions which is what makes it a reliable option. So, if you have doubts about how to translate a saying, phrase or want to know how to express what you want to communicate in the target language, this app will help you a lot.

Maybe there are other apps that I am not aware of, but without a doubt these help me a lot in my translation process. Therefore, I believe that they will also help you out. Now, I also have an idea that can make the translation process much easier, since it takes the burden off the author to do it, relying on trained professionals to do it. I think that creating a service of professional translators in Hive that would make a niche in this environment and that would be dedicated to this task should achieve a plus in the quality of the bilingual posts, or in which the authors do not have a the knowledge of the second language either English or Spanish and even some other language such as French.

I would definitely be part of such a project myself. So I will stay focused on that idea, encouraging translator friends to join Hive and even offering my help to hive users who want a more accurate translation. As soon as I have progress with this project I will be back to inform you.
