Writing for the @freewritehouse on a picture is worth a thousand words.
Link to the post below the story.

Mathew and Hulio are brothers living with their parents. They Iive upstairs together in the same bed.
Mathew is two years older than Hulio. Mathew wants to be a soccer player but his dad wants him to be a mechanical engineer.
Unlike Hulio he's done convinced him to follow that path and would take him to his workshop.
Mathew is the only fan of his decision as far as his dad is concerned and makes sure that it sticks on his mind and echoes in his head each time they'd have one of their frequently tense father-son spats.

Tabi, his mom would always play mediator. A mother who respects everyone's decisions never showed distress toward Mathew's soccer dream. A mother and a wife and equally a champ in both sometimes she feels cornered and in a position where she's tasked with mediation while their family starts to break apart. Not a good spot to be for a diabetic.

Osmon, her husband at times blames her for things.
Last night after a heated argument between Mathew and his dad, Tabi tries cooling them down before Math (as they'd call him) walks out on them.
"You see that...that's what he has become. No manners, no maturity just a lost boy thinking he can just go out there and figure the world out on his own." Osmon utters with fury.
Tabi: You should take it easy on him.
We can figure out a way so let's just talk about...
"Talk about what ha?. Does he look like someone who wants to listen and you done play your part in that. You don't see anything wrong with whatever that boy does."
Tabi's hands fell off his shoulder as he walks away. She stood there motionlessly looking pale and in agony.

One morning Hulio saw Math sitting outside on the balcony pondering. He went to sit with him.
"No workshop today?" Math asks.
Hulio: No, dad's gone to get some tools for appliance. Trolley jack got a problem too. How about you?.
Math: Am not going for practice today.
"Why...?"
Math interrupts.
"Look you should focus on what he tells you okay. Just leave me alone."
Leaning his head on the pillar he feels Hulio is loved than him. As time passes even Hulio is seen as his enemy.

The next day, Tabi confronts Osmon. Hulio waits outside as he gears up to head out.
"We need to talk." says Tabi looking straight in his eyes.
The elephant in the room was getting too comfy for her liking.
"Yeah let's do that when am back okay" Osmon responds.
"No, we need to do it now!".
Osmon: Honey, can't you see that am already headed out?.
"they are separating sheets Osmon! When do they ever do that?." Tabi whimpers at this apparent separation.
Osmon hugs her and promises to do his bit and then departs.

Early on in the evening some hours after work and minutes before dinner Osmon saw the tip of a paper under Tabi's pillow, he pulls it out and read what's written on it. The weekend couldn't be any worse.
A few minutes later they were having dinner and aside from a slothful ingestion by him an awkward silence mounts.
Tabi must've figured.
Math left the dining table and Osman follows outside shortly. Hulio looks on as if to say another fight is about to happen.
Walking quicker and pumping up with anger scolds Math down the porch.
"what do you think you're doing.
You think this is funny ha?“. One could see his lungs jumping underneath his skin.
"Leave me alone. None of this my fault." Shouts Math trying to free himself from Osmon's tight grip.
Osmon: And who's is it?
They kept on as Hulio holds on to Tabi who sobs.

The next day, training with his teammates on the pitch Math questions his sights for a sec after seeing his dad on the side watching him. At this point he was thinking he's taking a step too far. Coach Gaston excuses him and he makes it to the side where Osmon stood.
"What are you doing here?" He asks
"Where did you spend the night?. “ Asks Osmon
" In my bed of course." Math responds.
Osmon: You know that's not true and you must be thinking Hulio told us which isn't true either. Even though coming home late would be normal I found the bed sheets together as one so it's easy to tell.
'sighs deeply and continues'
Your mom's pressure got higher than it did before and all this ain't good for her or any of us.
Math: I know Dad. All I want is to follow my heart. My passion and make you and Ma proud. Dad this has nothing to do with disobeying you. It's just your son walking his path and being the best he can for himself and his family. You and mom and Hulio is all I've got. I just want you to understand me. This is all down to us, no one else but us.
I respect and love you all so much!.

Eyes filled with tears ready to cascade anytime. Immersed beyond sincerity Osmon could see pain and desire.
It's evident that his support would mean the world to his son. He decides to give it a push.
"Okay, I see that you really need it."
"Come here" he adds as they tuck together. Such a rare coll!.
“You mind letting those sheets be?.
"Yeah" Math says with a chuckle jugging back to the pitch.

Tabi was filled with joy when they became whole again. She didn't get rid of her sickness but has the support need to keep it controlled. Hulio was already doing great and Math would see them all cheering him up whenever he had a game.

What I see - A tidy room with a simplified setup. I see quite a few pairs like a bed with two sheets suggesting that two people live there. It also has two pictures with varying sizes on the wall just above the bed. Also the tip of a bottle on the fore.

What I feel - Two people living together possibly not a couple with the segmentation. Either just lodged into or not.

Finally, the family became peaceful, I think we should learn to respect the decisions of others

That's right @pearlie123 everyone can't be expected to like the same things especially where we can't put our hearts. We need to learn to accept each others differences.

What an interesting story! The usual parental pressure on children to be what they don't want to be. I'm glad it all worked out well at the end. I admire Tabi's courage as a mother. Well done! 🙂

Yes it's such a usual thing that doesn't always end well. Tabi was the thread that held them all together.
Am glad you like it. Thank you.

That's where tolerance comes in, here's a beautiful story.

We should always accommodate other people's choices and opinions.

Right. That way we're allowing each other to grow into what we want to be. Fulfilment follows.
Thank for reading🙂

I try to understand the problem with the blankets but I can't.
It is good to see the one who caused the fights in the family is big enough to end it.
I feel for the mother. Not because of diabetics but because she is always the intermediary who "did it". It is good she stands up and says they need to talk now. Although she could have talked with both of her children too.

Greetings @wakeupkitty, thank you for joining pic1000.

Yes it's true that she should've tried speaking to her sons. Must've felt that Osmon was good enough to handle it. Although he's part of the problem, he couldn't see it. At least for the most part and that's why he projects it to Tabi.
