Hello my friends from Diy Hub, today I bring you my participation in the contest of the month with the theme of kittens, these affectionate creatures, whose day marked on the calendar is August 8. This is what prompted this initiative. As soon as I read it, a Cuban children's song came to my mind that talks about the love of two kittens and I immediately visualized it in these earrings that I bring you here today, I also made the matching pendant, resulting in this crochet set, it took me a bit of work to make the figures, because they are a bit small, but in the end I really liked the result, I hope you do too.

Hola mis amigos de Diy Hub, hoy les traigo mi participación en el concurso del mes con el tema de los gaticos, estas criaturas cariñosas, que tienen como día marcado en el almanaque el 8 de agosto. Esto fue lo que motivó esta iniciativa. En cuanto lo leí me vino a la mente una canción infantil cubana que habla del amor de dos gatitos y al momento lo visualicé en estos pendientes que hoy les traigo aquí , también hice el colgante a juego, dando como resultado este conjunto a crochet, me costó un poco de trabajo hacer las figuras, porque son un poco pequeñas, pero al final me gustó mucho el resultado, espero que a ustedes también.

To make the set I used the following materials.

  • Three colours of yarn, black, white and red.
  • Crochet hook
  • Hooks for earrings
  • Hoops
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Liquid silicone
  • Brush
  • Tweezers

Para hacer el set he utilizado los siguientes materiales.

  • Hilo de tres colores , negro, blanco y rojo.
  • Aguja de ganchillo
  • Enganches para pendientes
  • Aros
  • Tijeras
  • Cola blanca
  • Silicona líquida
  • Pincel
  • Pinzas

I started to make the earrings and with the white thread I made the base, which is just a round circle.
I made a magic ring and inside I placed 6 low stitches. I made the whole circle in 9 rounds (rnd) of sc in the following arrangement
Rnd 1 : are the 6 sc made inside the magic ring.
Rnd 2 : 2 increases (inc) over each previous sc, resulting in 12 scs.
Rnd 3: 1sc over each point of the previous inc.
Rnd 4: 2 inc on each point resulting in 24 scs.
Rnd 5: 1sc over each point of the previous rnd.
From Rnd 6: to rnd 8: 2 inc and 1 sc, resulting in 60 scs
Rnd 9: 1 sc and 1 chain stitch in each stitch in the previous rnd.
This completes 2 white circles.

Empecé a hacer los pendientes y con el hilo blanco hice la base, que no es más que un círculo redondo.
Hice un anillo mágico y dentro coloqué 6 puntos bajos. Hice todo el círculo en 9 vueltas de pb en la siguiente disposición:
Vuelta 1 : son los 6 pb hechos dentro del anillo mágico.
Vuelta 2 : 2 aumentos (aum) sobre cada pb anterior, resultando 12 pbs.
Vuelta 3: 1 pb. sobre cada punto de la vuelta anterior.
Vuelta 4: 2 aum sobre cada punto resultando 24 pbs.
Vuelta 5: 1 pb sobre cada punto de la V anterior.
Desde la 6ª vuelta hasta la 8ª: 2 aum y 1 pb , lo que resultan 60 pbs.
Vuelta 9: 1 pb y 1 punto de cadeneta en cada punto de la vuelta anterior.
Así se completan 2 círculos blancos.

I prepare some white glue and water in a pot, and with a brush I paint these two white circles. I wait for them to dry so that they are hard and do not lose their firmness.

Preparo un poco de cola blanca y agua en una vasija, con un pincel la aplico a los dos círculos blancos. Espero a que se sequen para que queden duros y no pierdan firmeza.

While waiting for the white circles to dry I am making the kittens.
To make the body of the kittens, take the black yarn and do the following steps:
Start with a chain of 15 stitches.
At the end of the chain, pick up two loops of the needle and insert it into the fourth stitch from back to front and knit a double dc.
Then pick up three loops and bring the needle into the next stitch and knit a triple dc. The same is done again in the next stitch.
In the next two stitches, pick up two loops and knit two double dc.
In the next 4 stitches, pick up a single loop and knit a dc in the first 2 stitches and a double sc in the other 2 stitches to reduce the body of the kitten.
In the next two stitches knit a sc and in the last stitch knit a single crochet.
This completes the body of the kitten and makes four pieces with these steps.

En lo que espero el secado de los círculos blancos voy elaborando los gaticos.
Para realizar el cuerpo de los gaticos se toma el hilo negro y se realizan los siguientes pasos :
Se inicia con una cadena de 15 puntos .
Al terminarla se toman dos lazadas en la agujeta y se introduce en el cuarto punto de atrás hacia adelante y se realiza un punto alto (pa) doble .
Después se toman tres lazadas y se introduce la agujeta en el siguiente punto y se realiza un pa triple. Se vuelve a hacer lo mismo en el siguiente punto.
En los dos puntos siguientes se toman dos lazadas y se realizan dos pa doble.
En los siguientes 4 puntos solo se toma una lazada y en los 2 primeros se realiza un pa y en los otros dos , un pb alto de forma que se vaya reduciendo el cuerpo del gatico.
En los dos siguiente se realiza un pb y en el último una lazada.
Quedando así concluido el cuerpo del gatico , se realizan cuatro piezas con esos pasos.

The heads of the cats are also made with black yarn and in these steps:
You make a magic ring and from it you make a chain of six stitches, at the end of the chain you return with a loop and in the next stitch you make a sc, thus forming one of the cat's ears and from there you knit four dc. in the magic ring. From the fourth dc. you make a chain of three stitches, returning to the end with a loop and then a sc., this being the second little ear of the cat, then you make a chain of three stitches and insert it into the magic ring. Cut the yarn and close the ring, thus completing the cat's head.
Four pieces are made.

Las cabezas de los gatos se realiza también con hilo negro y en estos pasos:
Se realiza un anillo mágico y de él se hace una cadena de seis puntos , en el extremo de la cadena se retorna con una lazada y en el siguiente punto se realiza un pb, esto conforma una de las orejitas del gato y a partir de ahí se van realizando cuatro pa que se van introduciendo dentro del anillo mágico . Del cuarto pa se levanta una cadena de tres puntos retrocediendo en el extremo con una lazada y a continuación un pb, siendo esto la segunda orejita del gato a continuación se realiza una cadena de tres puntos y se introduce en el anillo mágico . Se corta el hilo se tira del anillo cerrándolo quedando así la cabeza del gato concluida.
Se realizan 4 piezas.

The hearts are made with the following steps:
With the red yarn a magic ring is made and inside it the following stitches ,1 ch. 2 sc. with loop, 1 sc. 2 ch, two ch, 1 sc, 2 sc with loop, one loop at the end, cut and pull the thread of the magic ring and the heart is confirmed .
Two equal pieces are made.

Next, with the double black yarn, make a chain of 20 stitches, which would be the tail of the kittens. Knit four of the same stitches.

Los corazón se realizan con los siguientes pasos :
Con el hilo rojo se hace un anillo mágico y dentro de él los siguientes puntos ,1 cadena , 2 pb. con lazada, 1 pb. , dos cadenas, 1 pb., 2 pb. con lazada , una lazadas al final , cortar y tirar del hilo del anillo mágico y queda confirmado el corazón.
Se realizan dos piezas iguales.

A continuación, con el hilo negro doble, haz una cadeneta de 20 puntos, que sería la cola de los gatitos. Teje cuatro puntos iguales.

Once all the pieces are finished, they are glued together to make the earrings.
The bodies are glued to the white circle with liquid silicone and then the heads, the heart is placed on the head of one of the kittens and the tail of the kittens, giving it a funny shape. Try to make the two earrings as similar as possible.

Una vez terminadas todas las piezas, se pegan para hacer los pendientes.
Los cuerpos se pegan al círculo blanco con silicona líquida y después las cabezas, el corazón se coloca en la cabeza de uno de los gatitos y la cola de los gaticos, dándole una forma graciosa. Intenta que los dos pendientes sean lo más parecidos posible.

A ring is passed through the top of the earring and attached to the hook with the help of a clip, and the earring is finished.

Se pasa un aro por la parte superior del pendiente y se fija al gancho con la ayuda de un pinza, quedando así concluido.

I wanted to make a pendant to match these earrings, so I made the following pieces.
With the black thread I made a chain of 15 stitches, I joined the beginning with the end of the chain forming a circle which I lined by making very tight scs around it, leaving a very firm circle. At the end of the circle, make two 4 dc. pineapple stitches at the top separated by two loops in the centre, making two little cat ears.

Quise realizar un colgante que combinara con estos aretes para lo cual hice las siguientes piezas .
Con el hilo negro hice una cadena de 15 puntos , uní el inicio con el terminal de la cadena formando un círculo al que forré realizando al rededor pbs. muy apretados quedando un círculo bien firme. Al concluir el círculo realice dos puntos piñas de 4 pa. en la parte superior separados por dos lazadas en el medio de forma que quedarán confeccionadas dos orejitas de gatos.

With the white thread I made a chain of 15 stitches, I joined the beginning with the end of the chain forming a circle which I lined by making very tight scs. forming a firm circle like the black one. With the red thread I made a heart ❤️ with the same steps as the hearts of the earrings.

Con el hilo blanco realicé una cadena de 15 puntos , uní el inicio con el terminal de la cadena formando un círculo al que forré realizando pbs. muy apretados formando un círculo firme como el negro. Con el hilo rojo hice un corazón ❤️ con los mismo pasos de los corazones de los pendientes.

I also applied white glue mixed with water to these pieces to make them hard and to keep the circles in shape.

También apliqué cola blanca mezclada con agua a estas piezas para endurecerlas y mantener la forma de los círculos.

When the circles are dry, the heart is attached to the centre of the white circle, which in turn is attached to the black circle with another ring. Between the cat's ears I put a golden ring which will be where this pendant will be hung.

Cuando se secan los círculos se unen con los aros primero el corazón al centro del círculo blanco el cual a su vez se une con otro aro al círculo negro .Entre las orejitas del gato puse un aro dorado que será por dónde se colgará este dije.

Finally I made a chain of 150 black stitches, on which I will attach the pendant I made. At the ends of the chain I attached the clasp and the pendant is finished.

Por último realizó una cadena de 150 puntos negros, en ella pondré el dije realizado. En los extremos de la cadena até el cierre y así queda concluido el colgante.
