On Splinterlands, updates come faster than on many other blockchain-based games.
Since I've been on Hive, I've played many games, but none of them have ever had the dynamism of Splinterlands in introducing new features and changes to gameplay.

Two days ago, on August 5, 2025, Splinterlands changed how the cooldown works for cards used in Survival Mode.

Before August 5, 2025, cards used in a lost battle in Survival Mode entered a cooldown period and could not be used in Survival Mode and all other game modes (Modern Format, Wild Format, Brawls, Tournaments) until the end of the cooldown period

Starting August 5, 2025, the cooldown mechanism will continue to function exactly as before, but only in Survival Mode.

So now all cards on cooldown in Survival Mode can be used in all other game formats!

Splinterlands explained that this change to cooldown is intended to incentivize and encourage more participation in Survival Mode.

Regarding my gameplay in Survival Mode, this change has simplified the management of my cards because I play in multiple game modes, and before this change:

• At the beginning of each season, I disabled all the cards I used in Modern Format from Survival Mode (my Rebellion and Conclave Arcana set cards).
• on the last day of the season, I enabled all the cards I used in Modern Format in Survival Mode as well

I did these two actions:

• to avoid the risk of having fewer usable cards in my favorite format (the Modern Format) for many days during the season
• to use all my Modern cards in Survival Mode as well, but only on the last day of the season, taking advantage of the fact that at the beginning of each season, the Cooldown of the cards was reset.

Now I don't have to use this strategy anymore, and today I enabled all my cards for Survival Mode!

To enable all my cards for Survival Mode, I went to the Item section

Then I selected the filters:

• CARD SET = All
• SURVIVAL MODE DISABLED

Then I clicked on the i symbol (Enable all cards for Survival mode)

Then I clicked on CONFIRM

Now, selecting the SURVIVAL MODE DISABLED filter produces a blank screen = all my cards are enabled for Survival Mode.

Now I can also use the archons of the Rebellion set and the Conclave Arcana set in Survival Mode, which I previously only used on the last day of the season.

I am an active player:

• in Modern Format
• in Survival Mode
• in the new Frontier Mode
• in Brawls
• in Land and Conflicts

My favorite formats are Modern Format and Frontier Format because they are the only two Ranked Play formats where bots and automation are prohibited. I only enjoy playing against human players like myself!

I would like to play manually in Survival Mode too, because it's a different game mode from the others, but since I get extremely bored playing manually against bots, I also use a bot in this format: XBOT.

If I play manually and have fun, the financial aspect can be just as important, but it always takes a back seat because the main reward for me is enjoyment!

As long as there are bots in Survival Mode, I will also use a bot and only play until I earn SPS, which I will reinvest in the purchase of cards that can be used in Modern Format.

In the current season, in Survival Mode, Xbot has played 67 battles for me and won 39.

With a collection of 806 cards = 22,964 BCX = 621,215 CP, a rating score of 1320, and 140K SPS staked from my last battle won, I earned 2.38 SPS.

With 39 battle wins, I earned a total of 58.34 SPS, while XBOT, which takes 20% of my gross earnings (72.92 SPS), earned 14.58 SPS.
