My Double Game Activity in the Modern Format & My Survival Mode Game Experience:
My Achievements in Season 155 and My Next Steps in the Current Season
On Splinterlands is running season 156 which will end in 10 days and 22 hours.
On Splinterlands you can play on different game modes.
I play on all game modes with the only exclusion of tournaments where I would like to return to play and perhaps will if my free time increases in the future.
In this post my focus is on the game modes that I enjoy the most which are the Modern Format and Survival Mode game modes, game modes that are part of Ranked Play:
In the previous season, season 155, I played in two of the three Ranked Play type game modes: Modern Format and Survival Mode.

The analysis of my game results and rewards I received in the last concluded season of Splinterlands form the basis for deciding my strategy in the active and current season and on this post I share:
- my game results and rewards I got in season 155 in the Modern Format in which I played manually with two accounts
- my results and considerations after playing in Survival Mode
- my considerations, strategies and my next steps in season 156, the current season on Splinterlands
My dual game activity in Modern Format
I start with my favorite ranked play format: the Modern Format.
I have chosen to play mainly in Modern Format long ago and since bots and battle helpers have been banned from this format.
I like to play manually against human players like myself and that is why I do not play in the Wild Format where there are so many bots.
Starting from season 152 I doubled my playing activity in Modern Format and so, even in season 155, I played in Modern Format with:
- @libertycrypto27 (my main account) -> Cards
- @libertygame27 (my curation account for SPT tokens) -> Cards

With @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (owned + soulbound) consisting of 1149 cards = 28712 BCX = 612960 CP = 2844$ Market Value (using Market Prices).
- I have a SPS stake = 133K (-50K delegated to libertygame27) = 83K effective
- I don't rent cards from the market and use only the cards I own
With @libertygame27 in Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (delegated by libertycrypto27 + soulbound) consisting of 206 cards = 8366 BCX = 95180 CP = 829$ Market Value** (using Market Prices)
- i have a SPS stake = 50K delegated by libertycrypto27
- in each season rent some cards from the market to increase the strength in battle

I have played more battles with my main account (256 vs 182) because:
- when I have free time and I only have my notebook I only play with my main account
- I can only play simultaneously with both accounts when I play from my desktop computer which has four monitors and multitasking is greatly facilitated.
The greatest satisfaction I had in season 155 was returning to play (albeit for a few battles) in the Champion III league after several years.
In the current season I will try to enter this league again!

The balance between rental revenue (libertycrypto27) and rental expenses (libertygame27) was positive: +12.90 DEC.
In season 154 this balance was slightly negative.
In the next two pictures you can see the rewards in SPS that I received by playing with my two accounts.

Based on the current market values of the HIVE token, the SPS token (highest bid value), and the DEC token (Lowest Ask value), I calculated the net dollar gain I made from playing with my two accounts.

I am satisfied with the financial results of both of my two accounts especially because they improved from season 154.
With my main account I have made good progress in upgrading Rebellion Reward cards.
A month ago I completed the upgrade of common Rebellion Reward cards.
At the beginning of the current season I spent 75K Glint to buy 100 Rare Draw
With the cards I found in the 100 Rare Draw I completed the upgrade of 6 Rebellion Reward rare cards.

I have completed upgrading 11 out of 12 rebellion reward rare cards and I am only 9 BCX of Dark Arborist away from completing the upgrade of all rare cards
I have also purchased 11 Epic Draw in which I found the cards you can see in the next image.
Even with libertygame27 I am making progress in upgrading Rebellion reward cards although, having only started playing for a few seasons, I still have many draws to purchase.
# My next steps in Modern Format current season
In the current season I will continue to play and have fun in Modern Format with my main account but I don't know whether to continue playing also with libertygame27 because the cost of renting summoner cards has increased a lot.
In fact with my second account I need to rent at least two top level summoners to get the seasonal results I got in the previous season.
In season 155 I played with only 2 maximum level summoners on which I spent:
- Kelya Frendul (level 8): 4.94 DEC per day
- Obsidian (level 8): 6.15 DEC per day
Unfortunately, I forgot to renew the rental of these two summoners before the end of the season.
If I wanted to rent these two summoners today I would have to spend:
- 44.90 DEC per day for Obsidian (level 8)
- 100 DEC al giorno per Kelya Frendul (livello 8)
Because of these rental prices this season I will change my strategy and play with my second account only with the lowest level summoners I have available.
If I will find rental prices much lower than the current ones I will rent more cards otherwise not and I will also evaluate whether to continue playing with two accounts in the Modern Format or whether to go back to playing only with my main account.
Another option I am considering is to delegate the two summoners I use with libertycrypto27 and have used less during previous seasons.
My experience playing in the new Survival Mode
My first season in Survival Mode was positive from a play perspective because I had fun playing.
At the same time, it was an unsuccessful season from the point of view of game results because I played only 48 battles of which 17 battles were won and 31 battles were lost.
My current problem in survival mode is that I have few summoner cards and many monster cards.
In the second season in Survival Mode, my game results and win rate improved because I mainly played the last day of the season using all my cards.
The last day of the season:
- I first turned the energy bar to 0 in Modern Format
- then I enabled all my cards in Survival Mode
- then I played in Survival Mode with all my cards without worrying about the cooldown of the cards I use in Modern Format because at every start of the season the cooldown is reset.
In the second season of Survival Mode I started from the Bronze III league with a rating score = 260.
By playing 51 battles I increased my rating from 260 to 560 points and ended the season in Bronze II league.
I had fun playing but my total gain in SPS was much lower than my seasonal gain in Modern Format.
In fact, I played two game sessions and with 31 battles won, I earned a total of 8.51 SPS.
Based on my seasonal earning and based on the market prices of rentals this season I will also change my strategy in survival mode:
- I will put my best wild cards available for rental instead of using them in the first part of the season in Survival Mode
- I will play in Survival Mode only on the last day of the season when I can use the cards I use in Modern Format and the cards I was not able to rent to other players.
If I will be able to rent my summoner wild cards that I used in the previous season in the first part of the season in Survival Mode I will earn much more than the 8.51 SPS I earned in season 155 ;)

I conclude this post by showing my last three battles won in Modern Format and Survival Mode to show the difference in SPS gain in different leagues and with different amount of staked SPS.

In questo post il mio focus è sulle modalità di gioco che mi piacciono di più che sono le modalità di gioco Modern Format e Survival Mode che Ranked Play:

La mia doppia attività di gioco nel Modern Format: Risultati e prossimi obiettivi
Inizio dal mio formato di tipo ranked play preferito: il Modern Format.
Ho scelto di giocare principalmente nel Modern Format da molto tempo e da quando i bots e i battle helpers sono stati bannati da questo formato.
Mi piace giocare manualmente contro giocatori umani come me e per questo motivo non gioco nel Wild Format dove ci sono tanti bots.
A partire dalla stagione 152 ho raddoppiato la mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format e così, anche nella stagione 155, ho giocato nel Modern Format con:
- @libertycrypto27 (il mio account principale) -> Cards
- @libertygame27 (il mio curation account per i token SPT) -> Cards
Con @libertycrypto27 nel Modern Format:
- utilizzo una collezione di carte (di proprietà + soulbound) composta da 1149 carte = 28712 BCX = 612960 CP = 2844$ Market Value (using Market Prices).
- ho un SPS stake = 133K (-50K delegati a libertygame27) = 83K effettivo
- non noleggio carte dal mercato e utilizzo solo le carte di mia proprietà
Con @libertygame27 nel Modern Format:
- utilizzo una collezione di carte (delegate da libertycrypto27 + soulbound) composta da 206 carte = 8366 BCX = 95180 CP = 829$ Market Value** (using Market Prices)
- ho un SPS stake = 50K delegato da libertycrypto27
- in ogni stagione noleggio alcune carte dal mercato per aumentare la forza in battaglia

Ho giocato più battaglie con il mio account principale (256 vs 182) perchè:
- quando ho tempo libero e ho solo il mio notebook gioco solo con il mio account principale
- riesco a giocare contemporaneamente con entrambi gli accounts solo quando gioco dal mio computer desktop che ha quattro monitor e il multitasking è molto agevolato.
La più grande soddisfazione che ho avuto nella stagione 155 è stata ritornare a giocare (anche se per poche battaglie) nella lega Champion III dopo diversi anni.
Nella stagione in corso cercherò di accedere nuovamente a questa lega!

Sono contento dei risultati finanziari di entrambi i miei due accounts soprattutto perchè sono migliorati rispetto alla stagione 154.
Con il mio account principale ho fatto dei buoni progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward.
Un mese fa ho completato l'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward comuni.
All'inizio della stagione in corso ho speso 75K Glint per acquistare 100 Rare Draw
Con le carte che ho trovato nei 100 Rare Draw ho completato l'upgrade di 6 carte Rebellion Reward rare.

Ho completato l'upgrade di 11 carte rebellion reward rare e mi mancano solo 9 BCX di Dark Arborist per completare l'upgrade di tutte le carte rare per potermi poi focalizzare completamente sull'upgrade delle carte epiche.
Ho acquistato anche 11 Epic Draw nei quali ho trovato le carte che puoi vedere nella prossima immagine.
Anche con libertygame27 sto facendo dei progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion reward anche se, avendo iniziato a giocare da poche stagioni, ho ancora molti draw da acquistare.
I miei prossimi passi nel Modern Format
Nella stagione in corso continuerò a giocare e a divertirmi nel Modern Format con il mio account principale ma non so se continuare a giocare anche con libertygame27 perchè il costo del noleggio delle carte evocatore è aumentato di molto.
Infatti con il mio secondo account ho necessità di noleggiare almeno due evocatori di massimo livello per ottenere i risultati stagionali che ho ottenuto nella stagione precedente.
Nella stagione 155 ho giocato con solo 2 evocatori di massimo livello per i quali ho speso:
- Kelya Frendul (livello 8): 4.94 DEC al giorno
- Obsidian (livello 8): 6.15 DEC al giorno
Purtroppo mi sono dimenticato di rinnovare il noleggio di questi due evocatori prima della fine della stagione.
Se volessi noleggiare oggi questi due evocatori dovrei spendere:
44.90 DEC al giorno per Obsidian (livello 8)
100 DEC al giorno per Kelya Frendul (livello 8)
Dati questi prezzi di noleggio in questa stagione cambierò strategia e giocherò con il mio secondo account solo con gli evocatori di livello più basso che ho a disposizione.
Se troverò prezzi di noleggio molto più bassi di quelli attuali noleggerò altre carte altrimenti no e valuterò anche se continuare a giocare con due accounts nel Modern Format o se ritornare a giocare solo con il mio account principale.
Un'altra opzione che sto valutando è di delegare i due evocatori che uso con libertycrypto27 e che ho usato di meno durante le precedenti stagioni.
La mia esperienza di gioco nella nuova modalità Sopravvivenza
La mia prima stagione nel Survival Mode è stata positiva dal punto di vista ludico perchè mi sono divertito a giocare.
Allo stesso tempo è stata una stagione poco positiva dal punto di vista dei risultati di gioco perchè ho giocato solo 48 battaglie di cui 17 battaglie vinte e 31 battaglie perse.
Il mio problema attuale nel survival mode è che ho poche carte evocatore e molte carte mostro.
Nella seconda stagione nel Survival Mode i miei risultati di gioco e il mio win rate sono migliorati perchè ho giocato principalmente l'ultimo giorno della stagione utilizzando tutte le mie carte.
L'ultimo giorno della stagione:
- ho prima portato a 0 la barra dell'energia nel Modern Format
- poi ho abilitato tutte le mie carte al Survival Mode
- poi ho giocato nel Survival Mode con tutte le mie carte senza preoccuparmi del cooldown delle carte che uso nel Modern Format perchè ad ogni inizio stagione il cooldown viene resettato.
Nella seconda stagione del Survival Mode sono partito dalla lega Bronze III con un punteggio di rating = 260.
Giocando 51 battaglie ho aumentato il mio rating da 260 a 560 punti e ho concluso la stagione in lega Bronze II.
Mi sono divertito a giocare ma il mio guadagno totale in SPS è stato molto più basso del mio guadagno stagionale nel Modern Format.
Infatti ho giocato due sessioni di gioco e con 31 battaglie vinte ho guadagnato in totale 8.51 SPS.
In base al mio guadagnato stagionale e in base ai prezzi di mercato dei noleggi in questa stagione cambierò la mia strategia anche nel survival mode:
- metterò disponibili per il noleggio le mie wild cards migliori invece di utilizzarle nella prima parte della stagione nel Survival Mode
- giocherò nel Survival Mode solo l'ultimo giorno della stagione quando potrò utilizzare le carte che uso nel Modern Format e le carte che non sono riuscito a noleggiare ad altri giocatori.
Se riuscirò a noleggiare le mie carte evocatore che nella precedente stagione ho utilizzato fin da subito nel Wild Format guadagnerò molto di più degli 8.51 SPS che ho guadagnato nella stagione 155 ;)
Se non conosci il Survival Mode puoi leggere il post che ho scritto e pubblicato quattro giorni fa in cui ho mostrato come escludere le carte che non vuoi utilizzare nel Survival Mode per evitare il periodo di Cooldown per le carte utilizzate in una battaglia persa in questo formato.

I was looking at the rare cards you upgraded to level 7 and 8. There were packed with great abilities. One of them even came with a bloodlust. I think I'll just have to upgraded my rare cards after the end of this season. Thanks for the motivation, and enjoy the upgrades this season.
I enjoy playing games to relax, but this one is challenging for me since I'm not familiar with this type. However, I find it interesting; this game will definitely stimulate your mind.
Great job making it to Champion at the end of last season! I've not been there in a long, long time and that was in Wild. You have a nice stake of SPS and great summoners, you should do well again this season. I'm only trying survival on the last day of the season, the cool down is just too much to think about.
Keep up the great work and analysis on your playing! I've got to figure out Survival a little better, this last season was my first try at it on the last day! lol
